The idea of giving birth scares me.
Also, I'm afraid of doing something wrong and hurting the baby by mistake (like holding the baby the wrong way). Pretty dumb, I guess.

Re: 2nd Spinoff to having kids
The biggest worries are being healthy during pregnancy, and then God forbid something happening during childbirth to me or baby (I should have NEVER watche the movie Jersey Girl .. if you've seen it you'll know what I mean!!)
And then getting used to a newborn in the house and hoping that instinct takes over and I'll know what I need to do - knowing what an infant needs when they cannot really express themselves totally freaks me out

Re: 2nd Spinoff to having kids
I'm afraid of almost everything....that something will be wrong with the baby...that something will go wrong with the pregnancy....that we'll run out of money.....
The one thing I'm not all that scared of is raising the child...I think DH and I are going to be great parents....because we both come from different families, but had really great parents growing up....

Re: 2nd Spinoff to having kids
I would have to say that the pregnancy part isn't scaring me at all. Especially when I never had any morning sickness and was not high risk. The only thing that does scare me is the birth...which is in 10 weeks. It's the fear of the unknown and pain that does it for me...

I would have to say the scariest thing would be not being able to give my husband a child. I have a lot of medical issues and I'm worried I won't be able to conceive.

The part that scares me the most is the actual labor and delivery. I have very little tolerance for pain and I'm very squeamish! I'm actually more afraid Brad's going to pass out in the delivery room. He's the most squeamish person I know!

I'm scared of the risks of an epidural. Not the birth itself, just the shot.

In all honesty... the thing the scares me the most is the teenage years i guess i worry about the labor part and everything, but i feel comfortable with babies.... you can watch over them, etc... i worry about all the drama and everything that comes with being a teenager... and raising a Normal, stable, HAPPY child.. not getting mixed up with the wrong crowd, etc.... i know its silly since that is soooo far away, but thats what makes me uncertain of if i even want kids

Re: 2nd Spinoff to having kids
Strangely enough, I am not too scared of labor right now... maybe that'll hit me later on but right now, the thing I am most scared of, is just not knowing what to do to take care of a newborn!
I just feel like infants are so delicate and yet SO demanding that I won't have a clue what he wants or the patience to handle him. I picture myself standing by the crib crying right along with him going 'WHAT DO YOU WANT???' And just not knowing what to do!!!
And I'm scared of not being able to bond with him right away.
I'm scared of EVERYTHING when it comes to babies....always have been and that's why I thought I would never have any.

Re: 2nd Spinoff to having kids
Im not afraid of giving birth, have done it and did ok( no medication) ..But being PG scared the crap out of me. You lose a certain control over your body and I had a very hard time with that. Every ache and pain scared me as normal as they were. I'm still scared of being PG... I'm not afraid of having a baby, or raising a child, Im afraid of doing something wrong, like turning my back when that 'bad thing' happens or something scary like that.
