It's been a while since I've been on the website. I just celebrated the 7 month anniversary!!!
Looking for some help ...
Although I'm fine with my beautiful wedding gown hanging from the ceiling of my Mom's home, I understand that it can't stay there forever.
Sooo Newlyweds, for those that didn't preserve their gowns and box them ... what are my options?????

DUMP IT!
You have the pictures to preserve the memory of your gown....you don't need it anymore.
If it is a coutoure gown that you paid more than $16K for, you can try to resell it on ebay....otherwise dump it.
My mom kept me her gown, and it still sits in a box in my closet....... Even if you have 12 daughters, your gown will be dated and out of style by the time they get married. TOSS IT!

I intend on getting it cleaned at least, Im going to keep it and later on in life have a christening outfit made out of it. My garter was also made of my MILs dress so I may do this too...dont know

I plan to trash it... I am going to do a day after shoot in May and all bets are off...Its still in my closet uncleaned from the wedding so I figured might as well finish ruining it.
Even if I ahve daughters, they will never be able to wear it because 1. Styles will have changed. 2. They may not fit into it.
I didnt fit into my moms dress AT ALL. So figure I will get some amazing photos of me in it with the DH and then I'll feel we got our moneys worth from the gown.

I think it'll hang in my closet forever! I can't imagine parting with it, I love my dress so much!

Donate it to a thrift store. Your gorgeous gown could make someone else as happy as it made you.

LOL .. I guess I was a little more nuts.. I had it to the cleaners two days after the wedding.. It sitting in a really tacky blue box styled from the 70's on top of my wardrobe.. :)

i also dont know what to do with it. its in the bag, not cleaned (i dont even know what condition its in really, like how dirty. it didnt get filthy tho) hanging in my closet taking up way too much space.
i thought of ebaying it. its a david's bridal one, not couture but still nice. like someone else said we have the beautiful photos and memories.

we're hopefully doing a 'day after shoot' next fall...then i'm gonna have it cleaned & also use it to make christening outfits for future babies

I got mine cleaned and preserved..... prolly gonna break it out on the 5 yr anniversary for shits n giggles hahahahah and maybe make something out of it that I can actually see all the time instead of it being in a nasty dated box lol

I had mine cleaned the monday after the wedding. It's hanging in a garment bag on my closet door. Not sure what I want to do with it! Maybe I'll convince DH to do some cool 1 year anniversary shots when we go to Nevis in June
