A few surprises from last night!!!!

One of DH's best friends rented out a small catering hall last night to ask his girlfriend to marry him in front of 45 of his closest friends and family. She was so surprised when she saw everyone, his speech was beautiful and the party was so much fun.
Then, as I was congratulating them again on my way out she says to me 'Sea foam green dresses and white hooker boots, that's what the wedding party will be wearing so you better be prepared cause you are one of my bridesmaids'. I was so shocked because I didn't even think that she liked me let alone would have asked me to be in her wedding party. I had no idea what to say because I wasn't in the least expecting it so my response to that was something like ' OMG are you serious, OK, then if that is what you want us to wear then whatever you want sweetheart'. Paul and I talked about it on the way home and were talking about how nice it will be to be in a wedding party together and we were both super excited. This morning after I woke up DH tells me that I have to talk to the Bride to Be and tell her that I would be honored because she was insulted by my response last night. We are supposed to go out to a late brunch with them today. I am so embarrassed (and still really surprised) I haven't quite figured out what I am going to say yet, but I just feel so bad that I insulted her last night.

I didn't think you said anything insulting!!! You were shocked and it sounded like you playfully said whatever you want us to wear!! Whats the big deal???

I wouldn't have been offended by what you said. You were surprised by her asking you to be in her BP, just explain to her that you didn't mean anything by it and hopefully she will understand.

I think what you said to her was great. It isn't like she formally asked you so I don't think you needed to give her a formal answer. It would have been different if she had said.... the bridesmaids are wearing seafoam green dress and white hooker boots. I would be honored if you would be my BM. Then you could have said... OMG!!! I would be honored. That isn't how she asked you though.... she asked you in a playful manner and I think you answered it in a way it deserved to be answered!!!!

LOL!!! I didn't think what I said was so insulting, but I thought that maybe I came out like a b*tch without even meaning to.
Thanks ladies! We are on our way now to meet up with them, I feel so much better!

Bridezilla is on the loose. I didn't think what you said was mean.
That will be fun to be in the wedding with DH.
Well at least you won't have to buy white hooker boots since you already own them.

I don't think you said anything that could be construed as insulting. Sounds as those she may be a baby bridezilla!! Ugh! I would tell her that you are honored and that you were really surprised since you guys aren't really really close. Don't stress...it will all be fine!!
