A funny thing happened at the airport

I was on LI for the weekend for a friends wedding. We were at ISP leaving to come back to NC yesterday. My DH and I are on line at security and someone behind us asks me 'Are you Stefani?' I was kind of out of it from the lack of sleep and I was very confused. I said 'Yes' and she said 'I thought so -- I've talked to you on liweddings!' It was AlisonMT. We had exchanged info on photographers and such and I had sent her some of my wedding pics and she recognized me. It was so funny.

BTW Alison: Your wedding pictures are gorgeous! I did look at them last week -- I just didn't make the connection. They are beautiful and you were a beautiful bride! Hope your trip home was safe.

Hey Stef!! Sorry if I caught you off guard there! How funny that two LD LIW brides would run into each other well after their weddings back on LI?? My flight was crowded (typical Southwest) but fine. I met a lovely elderly couple while waiting in line (they were A group, I was B) and when I got on the plane, they had saved me a seat! Too cute. I was glad to get home, though. DH was feeling a little better, thankfully, and it was nice to see him. Thanks so much for your compliments on our pics, btw. Hope to chat with you again soon!

Glad you flight home was uneventful. We had a delay once we got to Boston. We had to fly to Boston to fly to Raleigh -- dumb. It took forever to get home. But we are home and it's back to work!

Glad your DH is feeling better too.

Maybe we'll bump into each other sometime up in LI or on the road. We're only like 5 hours from you guys. My MIL lives in Northern Va -- about 2 hours from DC.

Yeah, he is feeling better but not before I went to the grocery store straight from the airport to buy all sorts of starchy things, Jello, etc....the place was a mess and I was there over an hour...then I get home and he tells me he's feeling better and, oh by the way, he ate some hot sour soup!! I KNEW I couldn't leave him by himself for so long!!

Traveling thru Boston to get to NC does seem pretty silly, but I guess that's the way the airlines operate now. What a pain. I actually get down to Raleigh sometimes for recruiting and will definitely let you know if I end up down there. Do let us know if you'll be in our neck of the woods...where in NoVA is 2 hrs from DC, out of curiosity? I thought most of NoVA was a lot closer...

ETA...chmlengr...I did debate asking for a few minutes since I wasn't positive, but I figured, oh what the heck!

She lives in Amissville -- about 1/2 hour from Manasses. So maybe she's not quite that far. She's more on the North West side of Virginia.

And you know it's funny b/c I had a similar experience when Jeremy and I took a cruise last year. We were in St. Thomas -- about to go back to the ship to change and take a ferry to St. John when Jeremy asked if we could go into this dive shop. I said -- okay -- but make it quick. When we were in there the girl behind the counter looked so familiar to me but I kept saying 'nah'. And her voice sounded familiar. We almost walked out but I knew if I didn't ask it would be bugging me forever. I walked back to the counter and looked at her and asked if she was this person and she just said 'OMG' -- it was someone I went to school with 4th grade through HS and hadn't seen her in 10 years. She was living in St. Thomas. What are the chances? So I know how you felt. I'm glad you said hello!

Too funny! See, it is SUCH a small world! I even ran into a college friend on my honeymoon last month in Positano! He had gotten married the DAY BEFORE Matt and I did and was on his honeymoon too!! We ended up having a lovely, fun dinner together that night.

I've never heard of Amisville but Manasses is about an hour from us, maybe 45 minutes if we're lucky. Definitely let me know if you'll be around and I will do the same!
