A little white lie....

so.... i started working for a new firm this past fall. Things are great, yada yada. So they called me in to tell me my Christmas bonus. It was a LOT more than I expected. And I got a small raise, which I also didn't expect since I just started.

When DH asked me what I got, I told him it was 1/2 of what I really got. He was SO excited at how generous they were. (Imagine if he really knew)

I only lied a little because I need to use some of the money to pay for his Christmas gift. And also if I tell him, then 3 months from now if its gone, he'll be a PIA and say 'I can't beleive you spent XXXX.' So I told a little white lie.... Is that bad?

I don't think it's bad......I would probably do the same thing if I was in your shoes

I planned a night out in NYC (we live in Rhode Island). Dinner res at Tavern on the Green, tix to Cirque du Soliel & a night at the NY Palace Hotel. My dad & his wife are watching the baby for the night

No, it's not a bad thing. If you had a spending issue and had an Imelda Marcos thing going on in your closet, then yes, it would be a bad thing.

But here, your hubby (and you!) benefit from the extra bonus you received.
