ABCNews/Channel 7 just called me....

I thought for a second, that they were calling me to tell me that Paul won the 'Beautiful Baby' contest on Live with Regis and Kelly. But, it wasn't that - yet!
It was a pre-recorded message from news anchor Bill Ritter, taking a poll about the Homeland Security alert and how it is/is not affecting our daily lives.

I know a lot of people shy away from participating in these things, mostly b/c they don't believe their opinion counts. As a PR person and the wife of a news editor, I know what it takes to put a story together. The importance of public opinion is engrained in my brain from my days at Marist College...public opinion polls were a BIG deal on campus, and Marist is often called upon by news agencies to conduct public opinion polls.

So, if Bill Ritter calls you, take a minute to respond!

Absolutely I will! I work for a political research firm at night and we have done several nationwide surveys in reference to the fear of future attacks, the previous attack's effects on peoples daily lives, the pending war, etc. and you can't believe how many people could care less and how little the general population knows about current events. Actually, it's pretty sad.
