I recieved my results back from my pap and they came back that I had atypical cells of an undetermined sigificance.. Im like *** does that mean.. And the nurse explained to me that there not normal and they want me to take another pap in 6 months... Im kind of freaking out.. Has this ever happened to anyone?

this happened to me, but since i am PG i had a colposcopy - basically my OB used a speculum and a microscope to look at my cervix and see if there were any abnormal cells. everything was fine - apparently it's very common to have an abnormal pap, which is why they want you to come back in 6 months.

My gf has abnormal paps quite frequently. Nothing ever came back cancerous. She just goes for more frequent paps now.

I had the same issue a few months ago. I had to get a coloposcopy as well and I have to get another one in 36 months. Apparently, its common.

a lot of things can cause this so try not to worry too mucn now.
Please make sure you go back in 6 months and if they are abnormal again, get some different types of testing etc.
A friend of mine had abnormal ones each year for 2 years and her doctor said it was nothing and not to worry. By her 3rd annual checkup, she got worried and ended up going to a different doctor, and found out it was cancerous. Not saying this to scare you, there is a small chance of this, but just make sure you watch it and get tested again in 6 months.

Mine came back abnormal and precancerous. I had a colpo 2 weeks ago. Just waiting for the results now.

Me ten!!!!! Abnormal pap, so I had a colpo also, turns out I have a few cells they'd like to zap, but can't do that til after comes ! Please don't worry yourself to death, its a really COMMON result; in 6 months if they're still abnormal, they'll do a colpo and decide if its something they need to treat further.

i just had a coloposcopy done about a month ago cause of an abnormal pap. i was freaken out but everything came back normal my doctor told me its soo common!!
