Has anyone made anything from the Cookbook yet? I am trying to be a good wifey and cook more lately and I was wondering if anyone has any good dinner ideas from the Newlywed Cookbook!

Re: About the cookbook...
Well I have had a head start on making dishes:
Mandy's Thyme, Basil and Pepper Braised Chicken Breast was easy to make (once I found Mrs. Dash in the supermarket) and has become a favorite of both my dad and my husband. Plus now that I have Mrs. Dash in my home its something I can make easily because its made with all stuff I keep in my pantry.
I also made finally MrsB18's Johnny Casserole. It was good and even better, it was a very easy dish to premake and send to NJ with DH when his father was in the hospital so they had dinner when they got home from Philli.
I also made geege827's French Toast Casserole. Great recipe if your having a few people over for breakfast.
And Jenny's Chicken Wreath is SO YUMMY!!! But I think if I make it again it will be as an appetizer. Only because it uses the crescent rolls so thats a bit much for dinner. Although DH would eat it for dinner every day, but he doesn't gain weight.

Re: About the cookbook...
Obviously I've made all of my like 59,503 entries (which I highly recommend ) , but before having the printed version I made Jeanette's Linzer Tarts for a family party and it was probably the most successful dessert I've ever brought over the way they all raved!
I'm just sad because I have like 3 or 4 additional recipes that I would have loved to include in the cookbook, but I didn't give them a test run yet before the deadline so I didn't want to submit them in case they didn't taste good LOL.

Re: About the cookbook...
Well I cheated and stole recipes off the thread before we got the cookbooks.
I made Kristen (chicky724) Oreo truffles several times and they are awesome!
I also attempted Jenny's wreath but I screwed it up (her instructions were fine, it was just me). It kinda came out like a log but it tasted good!

Re: About the cookbook...
Oh and I made a lot of the cookies because they all got added around Christmas when I asked for them specifically so I could make lots of cookies.
I made the Candy Cane, Snickerdoodles, Stain Glass Cookies and Linzer Tarts. All great!! The Linzer Tarts are great but the tops break easily so make extra.
The Oreo Truffles are easy to make and yummy but not good for my growing waistline.
I am dying to try the blackberry Crumble, but not until I lose some weight or have a lot of people around to eat it.
