the big day has passed! my wedding was awesome! i am so excited to be a newlywed now! this is where the fun really begins for me and DH! we are moving into our new apartment in NC in 2 weeks and i will be starting grad school next month! its going to be hard leaving LI and making charlotte our new home, but i know we are going to love it once we are all set up down there! and although i wont be a long islander anymore, i will still pop on the LIW boards to see whats going on and help where i can. we put up some of our non-pro pics on our site...

thanks! i had john f. (not the owner jon) and i liked him. i didnt realize though that half way through picture taking he didnt have an assistant like he was supposed to. i havent mentioned it yet, though i will after i get my proofs back. i did pay for the assistants dinner. it was stated in an email and in person that he would have an assistant, so when he came without one, you think he would have mentioned it to me. but other than that, john was very sweet. looking back we i thin we should have taken more shots of me and DH around the aquarium, bc all the shots were in one area on the dock outside and more variety would have been nice. have you gotte\n your proofs yet? i would love to see some and hear about your experience with them!!!

Were you supposed to have a photographer asst or just a lightning asst? We had Jon (the owner) with a lightning asst, which was his wife. I thought they were Great!!! I already got my proofs back. It wasn't even a week from the wedding and I received a message that our proofs were done. We were on our HM at the time so I waited for us to get home to pick them up. I couldn't believe how quickly they were done. There were pics at our hall I wanted Jon to take but forgot to tell him. Oh well, that was my fault not him. He even asked if there was any other pics I wanted. They all came out Beautiful!!! I have to scan some so you can see. I don't have a scanner so I have to ask my sis to do it. Anyway, I'm sorry to hear about you not getting what you paid for. I think that was pretty rude! You paid for an asst and there was not one there, you should definitely get reimbursed for that.

i just checked the email, it was supposed to be a lighting assistant. i did pay for their meal. also, atlantis is pretty dim inside and a lighting assistnat would have been helpful lol. not to mention i had a biog bridal party and ecxtra help for instruction would have been nice. it was funny watching our photographer try to fix my train and veil while juggling his camera and stuff, at one point i even said 'where's an assistant when you need one!?!' but he just said he was doing OK himself. i will talk to jon about it after i get my proofs. i am very excited to see them!! its good to hear you are so happy with yours and that you got them back so quickly! i am only concerned that my bridal party will have squinty eyes in many shots bc the sun was in our eyes during the formal shots. i am confident that i will love my proofs though, i cant wait to get them! ~lacey

Yes, Definitely talk to Jon about it. Not only did you pay for an extra meal but you had to pay extra for a lightning asst. That is just wrong!!! I'm sure your proofs will be beautiful!!
