Afternoon Wedding-DJ lights?

Afternoon Wedding-DJ lights?

I am not sure if we should get a lighting package with our DJ. Do the lights make it more of a party atmosphere? My reception is at the North Ritz so there is a wall of all windows....depending on the weather it could be bright or not. Just curious what other brides are doing...what it was like at weddings with and without the lights during the day.
Thanks!

I had a daytime wedding in Chateau Briand. I wanted lights at my reception but my DJ told me that if I wanted them I could have them but it wasn't worth the extra $ since it is daytime. I had the curtains down in my reception and the lights were dim, DJ-lights really didn't make a difference.

I personally think you wouldn't need lights but that is JMO.

I had a bright sunny day wedding, no lights. When we were dancing i didn't even notice that it was day time. When we watched the video you see how bright & sunny the room looked!

I am also having a day wedding at the North Ritz and decided that a lighting package was not necessary.

If you have a wall of windows, you probably wont be able to see the lights.

Day or night, I think the lights dont add to a wedding atmosphere.

I also had a day wedding and didn't bother with the lights (didn't miss them either).

I am not a lights fan...but you would be wasting your money on lights in the daytime...

I had an afternoon wedding and I focused on the music more than the lighting to get people dancing!

The music is what makes the difference. You can throw props and lights at people if the music is crappy it will not make a difference. We partied like it was going out of style at my daytime wedding. The GM at my hall said he has never seen a day wedding so pumped If it is something you have your heart set on I say get it.
