Again this year...

Last year my Grandma was in a nursing home for rehabilitation as a result of being hospitalized so much from September through March. She's morbidly obese and her lungs are failing, so she's always in and out of the hospital with breathing problems. Just 2 or 3 weeks ago, DH says 'at least Grandma's home for the holidays this year'. She was in the hospital just 2 months ago the week of my wedding when we almost lost her. Today, she goes to the doctor and he put her in the hospital again. It ***** so bad bc mine and my sister's birthdays are also in December (7th and 9th). She helped raise us so I hate not having her here for the holidays and our birthdays. It doesn't feel the same. It's routine now for us to make a plate and bring it to her at the hospital. I hate it so much. I guess I should just be grateful she's still here with us.

I'm so sorry to hear your grandma is sick and I hope she gets better and gets to leave the hospital soon. I lost my grandma 2 months before my wedding and thought my world was going to fall apart. I know the holidays will be tough but you have the right attitude of being grateful for every minute you have with her, even if you're visiting her in a hospital room.

Sorry to hear about your Grandmother.
She will be in my Prayers for her Health & also a Speedy Discharge if not for Thanksgiving than for Christmas.

My Grandparents raised me also. I know how it feels.

I'm sorry to hear your grandma isn't doing well. My grandmother helped raise me also. She moved in with us after my grandfather died and has been in our home for 21 years. After a few (very long) weeks in the hospital and nursing homes she passed away on Saturday. It's tough to know when I go home for the holidays this year she won't be there. I hope your grandmother gets better.
