AH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We find out on monday but Dh and I might be moving to Japan for the next 4 years!!!!

Has anyone ever been there?

I know its awesome and it will be a great experience, yadda yadda.

But the thing holding me back is we will more then likely have a child soon (God Willing) and I feel awful keeping it so far away from its future Grandparents. I know it will kill my mom and most likely his.

But it could be Germany! (which wouldn't be as bad because the airfare isn't too bad for family and we get to fly all over Europe on the weekend and well it would be easier for me to travel home with a baby if I need too.

Ahh, the suspense is killing me!

Wow!!!

My sister is a military wife, so I have a sense of what you are going through.

It won't be easy, but I am sure you will make it work.

My sister lived in Germany and got through it.

My niece and nephew are very well traveled.

Keep us posted.

Re: AH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks I really appreciate it!

I'm ok with Germany because the flight from Germany is actually the same amount of time as our flights from down here in Texas to home, but Japan just worries me. Even speaking about it brings me to tears.
Luckily we won't move overseas for another 6 months.

It's just hard because today is my Aunt's funeral in the Bronx and I am missing it because of living in Texas and If I'm missing that because I'm so far and the thought that in a few weeks we are moving to Arkansas then Overseas just has me all worked up!

Plus, my in laws are finally coming to visit next weekend for Dh's Graduation so I have to get out home ready for 6 house guests!

Re: AH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I grew up an Air Force brat and while we didn't get to see our family that much, whenever we did it was REALLY special and a really big deal. I can still remember how exciting it was to come to NYC to visit my grandparents. And my family used to love to come and visit, since it was always somewhere they hadn't seen. We always had visitors when we were somewhere interesting.

We used to take military hops over from England. They were really cheap.

To my brother and I, we didn't feel like we were missing out on seeing our family, since all we knew was seeing them a few times a year. It was a lot harder on my mom.

I hope that makes you feel a little better.
