We went on an Alaskan cruise the first week of September in 2008!

The key is to wear lots of layers so that you are constantly comfortable. On a regular day, I was wearing my windbreaker/rain jacket with a fleece underneath and a tanktop under that. Be prepared for some rain and mostly cloudy skies. I'd say the average temp was in the 50s while we were there.

Have a great time!

We didn't do any hiking, but we were outside a lot. I wore jeans and sneakers that whole trip. If you are prone to getting cold, I would make sure to pack some leggings or tights to wear under your jeans. I was OK without.

We were in southern Alaska along the inside passage. Not sure where you'll be, but if it's further north then I'd pack warmer clothes accordingly.

we're going to anchorage. so it looks like i'll be packing lots of clothing for layers. i dont necessarily need my puffy winter coat right? lol sounds like i should be ok with my north face and a wind breaker.

I would imagine that would be OK, but I'm a warm person and so that would be fine for me. If you think you might be cold, then you should bring a heavier jacket!

Have a great time! Alaska is incredible and sooo beautiful!
