Album Appt Question for those who have gone

Album Appt Question for those who have gone

I HATE my photographer and am dreading ever having to deal with them again. Ever. So, needless to say, I'm less than thrilled about the prospect of going in for these stupid albums.

ANYWAY, we have our appt made for early January. I'd really like to get in and out of there as quickly as possible but all of these album threads I'm reading are lengthy appointments, etc. I was planning on just having my 50 pics picked out, in order that we want them (same for the parent albums) and going in with that. We do not want to spend a single solitary penny more than we already have so all of that panorama, etc is out.

Is it possible for me to just walk in with this, sit for 30-45 min to explain 'keep them in this order, put them in the album' and get out?

That's pretty much what I did. I had picked out the proofs that I wanted in the album, and in what order. They (Patken) sat down with me and went through them, and suggested a slightly different order, which really worked out well.
Then I picked the album cover, wording for the front, etc. and that was it!
Oh, did parents' albums too.....

Good luck!

I went in October to drop off my list of pictures I wanted in the albums as well as the portraits. I had it all written out on their form along with notes of things I wanted fixed, deleted, colored, etc. I was there for 15 minutes and that was it. Next I have to go in to proof my album set up and I am assuming that will take a little more time...but I definitely think you can be in and out. Just be firm with what you want and that's it.

If you know exactly what you want and you know you're not looking to do anything out of the ordinary or allow them to talk you into anything. - it will take you all of 20 minutes !

Our meeting took about 45 minutes, mostly because the woman we were dealing with kept answering the phone.

Anyway, we brought the proofs we wanted to use for our album, both parent albums and enlargements. I even photocopied the proofs we wanted to use in more than one album, so they'd have a full set of images, in order, for each album.

The woman we worked with still had to fill out their form, which involved writing down each proof number in order for each album. Then, we proofread the form and chose the album colors.

That was it. You should be fine -- don't let them grind you down!

i had all my pics and parent pics already picked out and written in what order i wanted them, i also had my portraits picked out. i went in, told them what i wanted and left, i was there for maybe a half hour. i do have to go back when the pics for the albums are ready and ok them before they start binding the album together
