Album layout advice/help needed

Ok so ya girls know Im working on my skills with layouts etc. My sis-in law is a photographer and in a few years wants to go into solid business and wants me to help her with the albums. So i was showing her my new program on Xmas and she liked it but she said 'Its nice. Very traditional. I'd lie to do more modern because Lauren and I have seen so many cool different ones. people like different. They like modern choices.'

Now I KNOW she didnt say anything bad but I felt smacked because I showed her pages I havent posted yet which are about as modern as I think are out there; like Angelica Glass's, but she walked out of the room before I could ask WHAT she meant exactly. Since I didnt want to beat a dead horse at dinner i let it go but now its irking my neurotic PMSing self a little. I like to think Im pretty unconventional with certain things and my wedding certainly wasn't traditional, but what is considered modern?

Can you guys post either some pages from your own professional layouts or pics of layouts you like that you'd define as 'modern' and edgy?TIA.

The pages you've designed ARE modern, especially the backgrounds.

Did she tell you what isn't modern about this?
What does she mean by 'modern'? - geometric shapes?

Here's a website with sample wedding albums, but I think yours is better:
