All inclusive Caribbean Resorts

We are looking to go on a quick 4-5 day trip over Thanksgiving.

I've been looking into Excellence in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic... but I heard the roads to the resort are really bad and bumpy.

I would love suggestions - the closer to NY the better!

We went to Secrets Capri in Riviera Maya....very nice

the road to the resort to excellence is fine, its just around 60 minutes from the aiport. i suggest majestic colonial in punta cana, closer to the airport, and better beach and water then excellence.

we are going to sandals in jamaica this december -- really reasonable $ wise!!

The Excellence Riviera Cancun is AMAZING...and you don't have a long drive to/from the airport. Probably priced similar to the one in Punta Cana. I've voiced concerns over the drive too but I hear it's really not that bad. Either resort, you can't go wrong! They're pretty much identical.

We went to Excellence Punta Cana, and while yes, the road there was long and bumpy, it was worth the trip to get to the resort. We had an amazing beach where we were, there wasn't a lot of noise from the airport (we saw some resorts that were practically on the tarmac) and you got to see the countryside.

We would go again, despite the drive to the resort.

honestly just about anywhere you go--the road is a little bumpy. its really not a big deal though. DH and i went to jamaica and it was nearly 2 1/2 from the airport to our resort. Punta Cana's roads are not NEARLY as bad as jamaica's were. our ride from Punta Cana airport to the Iberostar Bavaro resort we went to--was about 30 min. maybe 45 at most.

We LOVED the Iberostar resorts....so fantastic!!

we went to Aruba for our HM... HIGHLY reccommend the Occidental Grand Aruba!!

i think we paid around $2300 for 7 days 6 nights & that included EVERYTHING - drinks, food, scuba gear, activities on the resort, shows at the theatre EVERYTHING!!

the only thing that was extra was the spa, hair salon & any water activities (like tubbing, banana boating, jet skiing) you wanted to do on the beach

ETA: the main roads are paved in Aruba, but if you want to drive up and down the desert, they are BUUUMPYYYYY - i suggest doing one of their excersions if you want to experience the desert activities. we rented a car on our last day there and drove to baby beach (one of the really popular beaches in Aruba) and the roads were FINE... its really just on the desert!
