We are a headhunting firm. so today we a girl come in for an interview; tall, thin, put togetehr looking. Until she asked for my restroom key. I said sure even though I had to pee, figurring she would be back in a few moments.
TWENTY FIVE minutes lates I am like WTH?!!! So I go over there and listen to see if she's by the sink so I can at least go in. I hear puking. So I knock. no answer, but I hear 3 flushes. So I go down the hall to get a key from our neighbors and as Im opening the door, another retching sound and more flushing. When I go in, it smelled heavily of perfume like someone was trying to hide something but no smell of poop. I pee, then finish and wash my hands. 2 more flushes but no gagging. I leave. As the door shuts, gaging then flushing.
FINALLy 10 minutes after I am at my desk again, she comes back (35 min now folks) and I in concern, ask her if she is ok. She looks startled and I mentioned that a stomach virus was going around. She looks startled again, stammers stumbles and agrees, then says thank you and hightails it out of there.
Ok so i dont wnat to come to any conclusions..but if she was sick, why didnt she just offer up that info when I sympathetically mentioned Id had a stomach bug a few weeks ago...
If she wasn't sick....

Maybe. If so she obviously didnt know Im guessing or VERY shy about spilling the beans cause you know women..we're gabby. And I opened the door for a convo exchange. And not even an apology for taking my personal key for 35 minutes.

1. Virus 2. PG 3. Major eating disorder with puking episode triggered by donut offered to her during interview
Seriously though, I live in mortal fear about getting sick in public, esp in front of someone I don't know. As open and not afraid to be gross on other subjects as I am, I probably would have had the exact same response. I have always been like that. At camp once I ran away and threw up in the woods instead of going to the bathroom where someone might have seen/heard me. I dunno...

This is all very true. I dont care one way or the other, but had I peed myself (as I almost did) because she got lost in there for 35 minutes Id have been pissed.

I would say pregnant BUT....
if she was amazingly polished looking and very thin, I say eating disorder.
Somehow, I'm leaning towards an eating disorder, becuase I suspect pregnant women would quickly agree and say 'yeah, I think I have that virus' Eating disorders are mentally based, and likely they would be fuzzy headed and couldn't focus quickly and come up with an excuse like that.

You should have just went in there with her. I am assuming there is more than one stall being you went in there while she was still there.

strange and unusal! let's hope she was pg. maybe she didnt want to mention it to you b/c that might reflect badly on her for future employers..?? i just dont know who would make themselves puke in a public place like that.. i would imagine people would do that at home and be closet anorexics.
