Almost 1 year later and still no album-Vent...

My in-laws included it in the price when they said they would pay for the photographer and videographer. The photographer didn't offer any packages. Now, they say they can't afford it! I am so upset b/c dh is still in school and he doesn't get paid much right now and I am paying the bulk of the bills and the rent. We really don't have the money right now, and I thought a year after the wedding we would be able to afford it ourselves, since his parents took back their word. I am soo upset and angry about this! I feel like I will never get my album now! Dh spoke to his parents and they still have no sympathy. I just feel like they went back on their word. I get so upset when I think about it. Sorry, I just had to vent.

I'm sorry! That's no fair on their part at all!
Maybe talk to your photog. Will he/she let you pay in installments?

True, I have nothing to loose by asking. I really hope he says yes, b/c I want my album. He's friends with my dh so I would think he'd say yes. We'll see, I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I'm sure they would let you do that, but if not, most places hold the proofs for 10 years. You could always just stick a little money aside yourself and when you have enough give them a call. Also, since the holidays are around the corner, can you ask for Visa gift cards so you can use that towards the price?

I'm so sorry to hear you are in this situation! I agree with the others, talk to your photographer, and explain your situation. See if he will work out a payment plan for you. Also, can you purchase your negatives or a CD and do the album yourself? I've heard mixed things about this--it can be a lot of work and will still cost money, but I think I would consider it as an option.
