Am I really late on sending thank you notes?

I am still waiting for my TY pics to come back, so it's not my fault, but the wedding was 2 months ago next week. Am I really behind?

Our Wedding was 5/25 and I just sent out the last of them, I picked our Thank you as soon as we got back from Honeymoon.
I don't think you are late at all.

I went to a wedding 2 weeks before yours and have not received a thank you yet.

You are fine.

Re: Am I really late on sending thank you notes?

I think you have between 3-6 months. I went to a wedding in January and got a TY note (no photo) three weeks after the wedding! They didn't go on a HM but still, 3 weeks?! She must have done nothing else after her wedding but write thank you notes!

Re: Am I really late on sending thank you notes?

You have 3 months to send TY cards. If you cannot decide on a photo- send TY cards without and send the photo in your Holiday cards instead. Also, write out all of the cards and address the envelopes NOW so when you do get your photos (if they are coming in a week or so) you can just put them in and seal and send.

Hint for future brides: I addressed ALL of my TY cards prior to the wedding and it saved me tons of time.

Re: Am I really late on sending thank you notes?

I decided on a photo, I mentioned I'm waiting for it to be finished by the photographer. I felt behind because it just feels like a long time, but I thought the general rule was 4-6 months. I just didn't know how far the other newleyweds were on this.

Eh, I'm no worse than my friend who sent hers when she was 9 months pregnant with her first child.....a year and a 1/2 after her wedding.

Re: Am I really late on sending thank you notes?

Michele, you know you stress me out with that 3 month rule girl! I haven't sent my TYs yet, 4 months later. Just picked the picture and ordered the cards. I don't know, when I go to a wedding, i don't wait for the TY counting down the time since the wedding, I am just pleasantly surprised when I get it. Of course we are all geniunely appreciative of our friends and family and their gifts/participation and I just don't feel like sending your TYs early means you are more appreciative. I know, I am defensive about this- but our lives are stressful enough!

Re: Am I really late on sending thank you notes?

I sent mine out exactly on the three month mark. It is just the way it worked out. Time goes by when you get home from the honeymoon and all and you dont realize. Dont worry, you will get it done. It does feel better once you know that they are out though.

Re: Am I really late on sending thank you notes?

Don't sweat it!
We picked up our proofs from our August wedding in October, picked a TY picture with in 2 weeks, then got the cards w/ pics in November. I didn't get them out until February (5 months later). In my case I had no time, so I did them on my February break from school.

Re: Am I really late on sending thank you notes?

Mine where about five months late. I got married in December and sent them out in May. I got busy with married life and everything. Anyway I ended up writing 'sorry for the delay' in addition to the message. You are fine but the sooner you send them the better.

Re: Am I really late on sending thank you notes?

I went to a wedding in Oct and got the thank you last week... and this was without a picture
I think 4 months is an acceptable amount of time...

Re: Am I really late on sending thank you notes?

It's good to send out Thank you's at your earliest convenience because it lets the gift giver know that you've received their gift. We did not send photos in our thank you's and we sent them out around 7 weeks after the wedding.

One friend gave us 6 of our champagne flutes and when she received our thank you mentioning only the flutes she called to see if we had gotten anything else from her. It turns out she got us something else and it had not been delivered.
