us Mulligans do not celebrate either

somehow DH ended up with this freaking last name - and he is ITALIAN - like has family in italy, they speak italian, they cook real italian foods (not like pizzeria food i mean REAL italian food) its so bizarre to me it almost annoys me that he has such an irish last name b/c i feel like its like living a lie His Grandpa's Dad was part Irish or something like that so the name kept getting passed down through the boys - but his immediate family (b/c his Mom is actually from italy) is very italian/european....and guess what i still didn't change my name so im not officially a Mulligan yet hahahaha

I have a similar problem...my dad is Irish but I look 100% Italian so people were always by my lastname...now I have DH's REALLY Irish name but at least it's my married name so it make sense

everyone always thinks DH's last name is greek... they are always when they hear its Lithuanian

I've never celebrated by going to the parade or bars on st. pats day. But every year my mom makes corned beef and cabbage and rye bread and irish soda bread

I love to decorate for all holidays! That reminds me, I need to get an Easter flag at AC Moore!

Im 100% irish and i used to celebrate st pattys day growing up, but not anymore. Its too crazy to go the city or even to go to a bar. Id rather stay home.

Nope, you're not alone. And I hate it when people say everyone is irish on st. patty's day. I'm not irish on any day. I don't even go to the puerto rican day parade!

We celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

Both of my DH's parents were born in Ireland.

His Mom makes corned beef and cabbage.

I celebrate by eating irish soda bread as soon as it somes out in the supermarket and I'll wear green that day if I own anything green at the time.

We dont do corned beef and cabage.

lol. I've never celebrated either, but that's only because I'm not Irish and I'm not a big drinker either. So there's no point. I used to do fun stuff with my class at the preschool though and that was cool. But I never went out and got crazy.

I always wanted to be Irish though, I'm not sure why. So I'm really happy that I am now officially Irish through marriage. lol. DH doesn't ever celebrate St Pattys though either, so oh well. No biggie

YES YOU ARE

Well I am half irish...DH is Irish AND from Rockaway so I celebrate TWICE once for Rockaway's parade which is saturday and then my mom makes corn beef and cabbage (my dad is Irish but my Italian mother makes a mean cornbeef)

Its just an excuse to drink early in the day in comfy clothes IMO

I never used to celebrate bc im not irish but the hubbs plays the bagpipes so i usually meet up with him after the parade
We are going to the parade in the rockaways this weekend too
