Okay, I admit, I've been ****ed in by this round of American Idol!
I haven't seen what happened tonight (Wed 3/12) with the results from last night's competition, but I just have to ask .. what is so special about Corey Clark? I just don't get it .. neither me or my husband thought he sounded good last night, or in any round other than his audition .. yet the judges all went nuts for him last night .. going so far as to call him something like a revived Smokey Robinson .. I really don't hear it .. what are we missing??? Are we seriously the only ones thinking he's not as good as he's being passed off to be??
Now Clay Aiken .. that kid can sing!

I know Kel .. I didn't watch it on Tuesday, but I never thought Corey was any good! Who did they boot off anyway?

I know I don't think Corey was that great and the Marine guy isn't so great either. I guess people vote for them for other reasons than their voices.

Re: American Idol
Last night they booted Vanessa Olivarez (sp?). I was actually surprised. I thought she'd last a little longer b/c she was different. I think Corey just has a certain comfort level that the others don't. I don't think he'll make it to the end though. There are others who are better.

Re: American Idol
My sister also hates Corey. I think he is sleeping with Paula- or will as soon as this is over
Love Ruben! Love Clay! Hate Julie! I really, really wanted Julie gone, gone, gone. Vanessa is very talented but she is not a Pop star. I also everytime I think about the time when she compared her a$$ to J LO (or J. HO, as I call her). There is a bit of a difference!

Re: American Idol
Corey is ok, I like the young girl that is in high school, the guy from Alabama and the guy with the spikey hair are my favorites
I don't like Corey either!! Especially after his little adventure at the tryouts
I'm not so impressed with the marine either!!

Re: American Idol
Love Clay!! Julia is kind of a *****, remember her sister going off on the others in her group whne they had to audition together? I would've flipped on her! Did you see her face last night? She couldn't believe that she was almost eliminated! I liked Vanessa's attitude soo much better! Julia is a little too confident for me!

Re: American Idol
I couldn't believe Vanessa was eliminated before Julie! I think Julie will be going next week. I cannot stand that blonde Kimberly -- she thinks she's all that and a bag of chips!!!
I'm not too overly impressed with any of them, but I think it'll be between Treynce, Clay, Josh and Reuben. I don't think the girls are that great this time around.
But who am I to talk? Do I have a multi-million dollar recording contract??

Re: American Idol
I think Corey is okay. However, I don't think he will be the last one standing.

Re: American Idol
I think he reminds them of Justin from last year....whom they may have wanted to win.

Re: American Idol
I think he is trying to get away from the Justin similarities. He has been changing his look.

Re: American Idol
I read an article that referred to Corey as 'Sideshow Bob' from the Simpsons. We thought it was pretty funny, so that's how we refer to him now.

Re: American Idol
I think hubby and I made the Sideshow Bob reference at the beginning. I don't mean to pick on Corey .. but I feel better knowing now that we're not the only ones who just aren't getting the hype over Corey .. poor Smokey Robinson .. what a terrible comparison.
With that said .. I did like Vanessa .. knew she wouldn't get all the way .. but liked her spunk and ability to sing .. though I didn't like the combativeness she displayed.
I guess my other gripe is with Kimberly Coldwell .. okay, so she does have 'stage presence' .. no doubt she's comfortable up there .. but she always seems to be mugging for shots on the camera when they're in the group .. and she just seemed to me to have too much of a 'professional' background to be in a competition like this.
