An 'aha!' moment earlier today
So unfortunately I have put on weight this year ![]()
I know it, my way-too-tight clothes from last year show it, and it suckkkks.
Well, I was referred to a new doc for a procedure and had the initial consultation today. We go over all of my health history, medications, etc. So she asks me - have you gained weight? And I said, yes, actually I have. And then she asks, 'before or after you started taking X medication?' And I was like, hmmm, now that you mention it, after.
Well well well, come to find out that the 'some possible side effects' listed for my med includes weight gain and the doc said that weight gain is practically a GIVEN when taking it!!
Fun, huh?
So of course there may be other reasons for the gain (we ate out for a couple of months after my shoulder surgery b/c I couldn't cook and I figured the crazyyyyy stress I've been under because of work and other health issues may have contributed), but it totally felt like an 'aha!' moment b/c the gain was kinda sudden.
The doc mentioned that there's another medication that is sorta similar to the one I've been taking that does NOT make you gain, so when I see my regular doc again, I am going to ask him about possibly switching. I mean seriously, I wasn't thin to begin with, so it REALLY ***** to be heavier!
So, on to some weight LOSS, I hope!![]()
