I took out chicken breast and some steak to make a stir fry on thursday, and let it sit out for about 3 hours. Then I decided I wanted something a little lighter, so I put them in the fridge, with intentions of cooking them Friday. That didn't happen and we went out tonight, so would they still be good if I made them tomorrow? Or, should I **** it up and waste all that money and throw them out (it was a good cut of steak and they are from the butcher, so it is clearly overpriced)?
Usually, I live by 'when in doubt, chuck it out,' but I'm not sure what to do.

I'mnot sure...
ETA: was it completely defrosted when you put it in the fridge?

It should still be OK -Usually meat is good 3-5 days in the fridge. I would smell it to make sure it is OK before you prepare it. If it smells fine and you are still concerned just make sure it is well cooked. The USDA website has a lot of great information on food safety.

Re: An 'is it still good' question
My mom said it depends on how long you had it before you froze it but it should be fine. She said its all about the smell. If it smells funny then chuck it.
