Anniversaries

Does anyone celebrate their 'dating' anniversary after they got married or is it just the wedding anniversary. I want to still celebrate the day we started dating... maybe not with gifts but a card and dinner. I think it celebrates when we first started out. What do you guys think?

Re: Anniversaries

we haven't come around to that yet, but it'll always be a special day for us. Its only 2 weeks before our wedding anniversary, so we probably won't celebrate both but we will acknowledge the day in some fashion.

Re: Anniversaries

How appropriate that you ask this today, the 4th anniversary of our first date! If it's up to me, we would celebrate, but my DH just goes 'oh yeah' and that's it. Maybe we're asking for too much -- it's hard enough for men to remember one date, let alone 2 (or in my case 3 because the date we met is another date I want him to remember)!!!!

Re: Anniversaries

That's easy for us to do... We got married on our anniversary! So yes, definitely we'll be celebrating. I can't wait for our 1 year anniversary... because it'll also be our 10 year anniversary. So exciting!

Re: Anniversaries

We had our first date on new years eve so it's easy to remember - in fact both my DH's brother's had their first date with their wives on new year's eve (different years) isn't that strange? Anyway, we always remember and since it's NYE, it's hard to not already be celebrating, but we do always acknowledge it.

We do celebrate our dating anniversary, we're sappy that way!

Although, we were engaged 2 years ago today and I almost forgot!

Re: Anniversaries

We didnt celebrate it after we got married, I always MENTION dates as they pass, I'll never NOT mention it or forget it, and DH remembers too.
But I was more sappy about celebrating our 'engagement date' since we got engaged !

Either way ya choose to do it, ENJOY !!

Re: Anniversaries

Well Anna, you're right -- we apparently aren't celebrating them either after we're married!!! LOL :) I got a 'Happy Anniversary Baby' then 'I'm going by John's since he's going away for the weekend, ok?' and left me to empty my china closet since they're coming to fix it today -- this being the same china closet that Hercules ripped the door off of. What's wrong with this picture???

Re: Anniversaries

We definitely celebrate our 'dating' anniversary - it'll be 4 years on Oct. 22, and hubby is a big 'ole sentimental sap for stuff like that. (that's why I love him!) He already asked me what I wanted to do that day...

We also acknowledge in a lesser way our engagement date, which is also very sentimental to us.

Re: Anniversaries

We'll still celebrate our dating anniversary. We're actually going to a hockey game that night. I think it's a nice thing to do.
