Anniversary Gift Suggestions

The year has gone by so fast (and here I am still on this site) all of my friends really get a kick out of it.
My husband and I had big plans a year agon that we would go on a nice vacation for our 1st A, however since we are buying a house this summer we just can't afford it. We have decided to go out for dinner the night before our Ann. b/c it's on Sunday. On Sunday we are going to an Art Auction and hope to find a paiting that we both likie and (that will be our gift)
But, I would love to do something with the whole Paper idea - what has everyone else done????
I don't know why I waiting until the last minute - but any ideas out there?

Re: Anniversary Gift Suggestions

Congratulations! Doesn't a year just zoom by??

My hubby gave me a Waterford paperweight for our anniversary. I don't know if that's the kind of gift that you'd give to your hubby but I thought it was a very creative twist on the paper anniversary. I was doubly impressed because I am usually the more traditional & creative one and I didn't even do something for our anniversary related to paper.

Here's another idea - a sketch of a favorite pic of the 2 of you together - check out the website, it would look nice on the wall in your new homehttp://www.mydavinci.com/j/photos8.jsp?pt=findgift

Best wishes!

Is it the Park West auction..

..that you are going to? My hubby and I bought two pieces from them during the art auction on our honeymoon cruise. They have really nice things.

My 1st anniv. is next month(along with both of our birthdays). We have no gift ideas either. We tried to plan a trip, but since I'll be 7 1/2 months pregnant, any plans fell through.

Re: Is it the Park West auction..

This may seem like a crazy idea, but what about giving a preserved newspaper from the date you were married?

This past Christmas, we really were stuck with no interesting ideas, then I saw an ad for these newspapers and thought it was something different, and that I would like such a thing .. to keep for years down the road. So, we bought them for our parents (married in the 60s) and our married siblings .. newspapers from the day they were all married. They all thought it was neat.

Re: Thanks

I wish I had posted this question sooner. I truly love the idea of having you picture sketched. I wish I still had time. However, Anniversary is tomorrow.
We did get to go to the open on Thursday and that's where we got married, so that was nice to be able to do. We even had tickets to go into the Carlyle.
It's also nice to still be part of this web-site!!
Thanks for the good wishes.
