One of Luke's friends just got engaged. They are throwing an engagement BBQ at their house to celebrate. I asked the bride to be if they were registered and she replied no - that we should just come and have fun.
Of course we will give them something - but what?
Other facts: - I dont really know the bride well. She seems sweet and is a crafty type of person but I dont know enough about her likes/dislikes to have a perfect gift in mind. - Not sure but her wedding may take place on a cruise or something like that so she probably doesnt need the traditional wedding stuff like a guestbook, etc.. - The couple already lives together and they are in their late twenties. - He moonlights in a bar/restaurant so liquor is not a good gift for them.
Ideas?

Re: Another gift dilemna (engagement present?)..
A spin off from Erica's idea ... I got this from a good friend at work ... we loved it.
BTW ... I love those picture coasters ... I have to get them now that you posted them! Thanks!
Ok...so Luke poo-poo'd the photo idea as well as the fondue thing and the coffee idea. Naturally, he has no ideas of his own.

Lisa - I agree with that theory. He says 'there is plenty of time' which means we will be racing around for a gift the night before which I hate...but Im in no mood to argue about it so whatever!

I realize I'm at the end of this post but one of my first thoughts was the same as yours - the Tiffany Toasting Glasses. Even if their wedding is not traditional, they will toast their marriage that day and flutes would be a wonderful gift.
I bought the Sybil flutes for my cousin as an e-gift. They're so much more beautiful in person (the pix looks ornate but they really are stunning) The tiffany box + card topped it all nicely.
Very classy. Can't go wrong...
Edited to say - price was $80 including presentation box.
