Another MV Question?

I have to renew and change my name on my license in November. Will they keep my original license? I need picture ID in my maiden name to close on my apartment I am selling.

According to the NY MV website, you have up to two years from the date of expiration to renew your drivers license. You can renew your license via mail as well. Here is the link to the website with information:

They punched a hole in mine and gave it back to me so I would have it until the new one arrived.

Thanks ladies for all your help. I checked my passport last night and it is still current so I'll be ok for picture id in my maiden name if for some reason MV took my license.
