Do you pick the same photos for both sides? Otherwise it's gonna cost a fortune to lay out 2 different albums!
Also, if my mom s paying for photo, does she have to pay for DH's parent's album? We're not talking 100 bucks, it's more like 400. Should we pay for it being that DH's parents were very generous for the wedding?
What did you guys do?

Re: Another parent album question...well 2.....
My mom's was included in the package - she ordered more than what the package included and paid the extra.
Due a misunderstanding (still not clear) we didn't initially include my MIL's album. We ordered it after the fact and because they were so generous with us at the wedding DH and I paid.
Layout wasn't an issue on the parent albums because we weren't given a choice - 1 pic per page - any pic you wanted.

We picked out different pictures and also paid for both albums for our folks. A 'thank you' to them for being such great parents.

Basically the same here. My mom picked her own pictures and we picked MIL's pictures. We gave MIL the same number of pictures as my mom chose.

Re: Another parent album question...well 2.....
we had the pictures included in our package and then had the albums made by a friend of the family. after the wedding, we let each set of parents choose the pictures they wanted. the only thing we did was limit the number of pictures they could get in the album - my parents wanted more, so they had to pay the additional money for their extra pictures.

Re: Another parent album question...well 2.....
we gave all the proofs to our parents and let them pick which ever ones they wanted for their albums. DH and I are paying for the basic photos that were included for the 2 parent albums and my parents and my inlaws are paying for the extra photos they wanted. I think both of their sets came with 24 photos but my parents wanted 40 and my inlaws wanted 38, so they are each paying for the extras.
If we had done a soho style album, all three of the albums would have had to be the same, but since we all wanted traditional style albums everyone could pick out the pictures that were important to them.

Did your photographer tell you it would cost extra for a different layout? If not, I would check, because ours did not charge extra for another layout.
We had some of the same photos in both, but we chose different ones (DH and his parents alone, me alone with mine, etc.). We also had photos of relatives and friends in each album.

It seems like some photographers will charge less if you use the same pictures and some won't. I don't think I'd spend a few hundred more but I'm not sure.

Re: Another parent album question...well 2.....
We had both sets of parents pick out there own pics, it was easier on us that way. We didnt want to get blames for not putting certain pics in ect. MIL actually wrote down the order she wanted the pics in, and so did my parents, that was easier too. We dont have a layout fee or anything so it didnt matter. The albums were included in the package so we told MIL we bought it for her and my parents are getting the album and one of our 8x10 since they helped us with the wedding. If 400 is to much for you maybe you can split it with your MIL that way it is still like a thank you.
