Since you girls have all been looking at or getting a puppy its making me want to get another puppy. We already have a daschund thats about 1 1/2 and I want to get her someone to play with but I don't know if thats actually a good idea or not...what do you ladies think? Do you have more than 1 dog so that they have a playmate? Don't get me wrong I love dogs and I want another one for that reason but I think it would be nice to have someone for my dog to play with. Just wondering your thoughts.

We have cats not dogs BUT I ahve to say our fat 3 yr old cat is sooo much mroe active now because she chases and plays with the 11 month old. He stirs her up and forces her to keep those legs moving. They drive me nuts with the jumping over stuff but she does seem happier with her little friend.

Thats what I was thinking it would be good for her to play with someone, my sister used to have a dog and she loved playing with him but now she seems so lonely sometimes!

Zoe used to sleep all day. She was really lethargic and got fat but now with the excercise she slimmed down, She misses Simon when he goes to the vet.

I really want to get another dog but our dog now (nala) still needs to have another eye surgery so I think DH wants to wait until after thats done but now I'm getting anxious since everyone has been posting about puppies!!

I wish I could get another puppy!!!!!!! When we have a house (I live in an apt in the city) DH said we can get another pup- and I eventually would love to breed dogs... but that won't be for a while! But I think your pup would love some company!! Would you get another daschund or a different breed? What other breed would you want if you don't get a daschund? I think your pup is prob at a good age for a friend too- he's not sooo little that you will have two tiny little puppies running around- but also not a 15 year old set in their ways kind of dog. My cat (we had to put her to sleep a couple of years ago ) was 15 when she was introduced to my dog. My cat lived at my parents and when I would bring my pup over to visit my cat wanted nothing to do with my pup and would hiss and everything- so sometimes it is tough when they are older and have run the house for a while on their own!

I think shes at a good age also and we just moved into our house so its not like we don't have the room for it and DH wants to get another one eventually but I think with her needing another surgery in a month that DH will want to wait but I want to get it one over the summer so that taking them out wouldn't be so cold!! I think Dh wants to get a bigger dog this time he said he wanted a boxer but I feel that would over power Nala and it wouldn't be fair I would love to get another daschund but I think I would want to adopt a dog this time so we might get a mixed breed but who knows! My sister had a chihuaha (sp?) and she loved playing with him cause they werent to different in size

I LOVEEE chihuahua's!!!!! If I could get another dog- that would be the one!! DH says NO WAY! haha he wants a big dog too- even more of a reason that we will need to wait for a house! Boxers are really cute! But of course rescuing a dog is always an amazing thing to do! Keep me posted!!

I had a boy chihuahua and bought a girl a year later.. they are the best of friends... (when they aren't chasing eacother around the house!!! )
