another question on album decisions

another question on album decisions

There are many pictures that I LOVE and I'm definitely putting in my album. I was also thinking of enlarging some of the same shots for wall display. What are you guys doing? Are the ones you're enlarging also going in your album? Would that be overkill?

After all, we'll be looking at the ones on the walls much more often than the albums so I want them to be my faves as well!

thanks

Re: another question on album decisions

We did a couple of different ones Terri. All of the ones in the albums are our favorites so that is where our wall/enlargements would come from, unless you have some that you really like that could not fit in your album, then you can use them for your wall. I do not think it is overkill. Pictures at different sizes look different. Do what makes you happy

Not everyone will see your album but they will see the ones on your wall all the time

I have my Thank You in an 8x10 frame, and my huge portrait I chose was also put in my album. I dont think its overkill at all. More peopel will notice your frames than what was in your album.

Thanks - something else to think about

I am not sure about the enlargements that we are getting but I imagine at least one of them will end up in the album. I don't think it's ovekill either - esp since they are your favorites!

Thanks everyone....

Christine - isn't this so overwhelming?! I lay out all of my proofs, and then after a little while can't make any decisions!!! At least I'm just about done with the album. It's so hard to decide what should be blown up, trying to picture the frame, etc - I'm driving myself mad! LOL

I foolishly thought that after the wedding we would pretty much be done with wedding stuff. LOLOL

This is so overwhelming!! I am so lost with even the album - all the proofs are color but can be black & white, sepia, hand painted details, etc - I am having so much trouble trying to figure out how that will all look.

Terri, that was the funny thing, after we did the album, this was after sitting with Lia for over 4 hrs, she said which ones you want to enlargen, we were like, we were so into picking these out we forgot She helped tho' It can definitely be overwhelming

Re: another question on album decisions

We are blowing up at least 2 of our album pics, there's a third that we will hang that might be slighty different than the shot that's in the album.
They are our favorites, I don't mind having them in more than one place.

all of our enlargements were album pics

Re: another question on album decisions

Im not really putting enlargments on my wall, just a collection of proof size photos in frames. For example, I have this large frame hanging over my couch

so Im going to put my favorite photos in it along with a few other items around the house.

Im sure that we will use the same photos in the albums as on the walls but because they photos are a smaller size, I can change them whenever I wish.

Teri ... we used most of the same pics for our enlargements too. I agree ... they are your favorites, right? Why enlarge a pic you are not that crazy about.

My enlargements are of pictures that are in my album also. They were the best photos.

ddunne23: Me and my husband we just discussing doing that frame - did you see it on exposuresonline.com. I love that site. We get so many frames from them - they have gorgeous stuff.

Yes..I actually get their catalog and it is in their catalog and on their website. They do have great stuff!

Re: another question on album decisions

That is very cool...but I dont think exposures online would do that with proofs without the written consent of a photographer right?

I think one of the photographers on this board does something like that (dont remember who).

I love that (above). Where are people getting them?

Stef, you are absolutely right - they require written permission from the studio to reproduce that...but, it is very nice!

Teri - to answer your original question...we have two pics from our album as our enlargements. We have and 11x14 of our album centerfold (full panorama), and a 10x10 of our album's last page (half panorama).

Thanks for your replies everyone!

Stef - great idea about the PB frame - my B&Ws are mostly horizontal 4x6s and they'd look great in a collage like that!
