Re: anxiety?

yes; absolutely - it's like the fantasy part ended and real life began. things were more settled b/w me and DH, but I would lie if I said I'm completely, utterly, 100% happy. I STILL look at my parent's marriage and think to myself now THAT'S a happy marriage. I sometimes look at DH and I and think to myself that it's not what I envisioned; I ask myself if i'm lonely, feel alone, things like that. So, yes, I definitely do feel anxious at times that I made a wrong turn somewhere. DH is wonderful and loving and so good to me and my family, but all that said, I do sometimes wonder....

I felt anxious after the wedding but not exactly the anxiousness as the bride above. I felt like I was walking on a cloud. Kind of slow motion and the world was moving so fast. I was very happy right after the wedding.
As to the response above me... I am sorry to hear that u feel that way. I do thinks its natural though to wonder all the what ifs. Take it one day at a time and u will probably have less anxiety as u get comfortabel with being married. There are days that i think the same way (maybe not so much 'is he the one') but rather OMG his family is nothing like i wanted and how can i do this and OMG this isnt working out the way I planned or its easier to do things my way. We lived together for a yr prior to the wedding and I feel thats what made the stress subside for me. Good luck to both of u.

Re: anxiety?

I didn't have any marriage anxiety really(we lived together for a year and I felt married to him since the first month we were dating) but I did have a lot of left over anxiety about the wedding. I couldn't even sleep on the honeymoon since I would obsess about stupid things that went wrong that day or pictures we didn't take or things like that. I think it was to avoid the overwhelming idea that we just got married and that it was forever. I remember just being really anxious and not sleeping very well the first month.

All my anxiety just lifted after the wedding!

I don't know about any of you but I had weird dreams prior to the wedding about my teeth falling out, and the photographer not showing up, about my dress being caught in my underwear after the bathroom... and so on...

Oh my God! So, did I! I had dreams about the photographer not showing up, my teeth falling out and not being dressed for the wedding, I went in casual clothing!? I had so many of those dreams! I wasn't really stressed after the wedding, I was more relieved.

I have anxiety, but not about the marriage. It's more about financial worries (we are saving to upgrade to a house from our condo), looking to change jobs, finishing grad school...I adore being married, but it does take up more of my time than when I lived alone!

I felt and still do feel the same way.

YES! Although, I think it's due to a lot of things and not all of them are marriage. The marriage part is going very well so far, but it is an adjustment.

I think it is the move--getting used to living in a new area. My mother had some health problems, as did several other family members. And I got a new job, plus took on some responsibilities for my old job. Finally, all the name change, legal, and financial stuff that we need to settle.

There have been nights when I just feel too stressed out and hopeless that I'll ever not feel this way. But that passes very quickly.
