Any ideas for a weekend away?

DH and I are thinking of going away for a weekend in October but have no idea where to go. Any ideas? We were thinking of going to a nice bed and breakfast but don't even know where to begin. Thanks for your help.

Re: Any ideas for a weekend away?

In October, I would probably head towards the northeast, probably CT or RI to see some beautiful foliage. Jennbaby just stayed in a pretty B&B in Newport, RI.

October is a great time to go upstate NY in October. DH and I went to Warwick county - there are tons of B&B's in that area. There is apple picking and wineries too! and some nice restaurants.

Re: Any ideas for a weekend away?

Newport, RI is awesome!! We stayed a B&B there last November and had a great time - awesome resturants and great mansion! I recommend staying at any one of the Inns of Newport - this is the site -

edited to say: I didn't relize I was posting on the NW board - sorry! Will be here myself though in 11 days!

Ohh- I'll definately second (or third) Newport. It is such a beautiful place. I loved visiting the mansions - so incredible!!
We went there about 2 years ago right around Christmas and stayed here -
Sarah Kendall House
and just loved it!!
