thats what we did and it worked out very well...just tell your dj...I think people do it often...

We used At Last, and our band actually played the song twice - when you watch our video, you can see us dancing to the whole song by ourselves, and then when the band asked the parents, BP and guests to join, they repeated the verses. It worked out fine for us - we didn't choreograph anything, so it didn't matter to me.

We used At Last also and the BP did cut in. I actually liked that it was a short song because I felt a little funny having 220 people stare at me and DH at such a private moment. In a weird way, we had more privacy once the other couples were on the dance floor. Maybe we're weird.

I had 2 wedding songs. Me and hubby danced to Through the Years alone and then they played At Last and I had them call everyone on the floor

we used a different song, but I was also happy when others joined in. Then we could relax and enjoy each other without everyone watching every move.

We danced alone to At Last(we wanted everyone to see how hard we practiced ) Then we had everyone join in for Sea of Love. At last is really short.

Jenn: I LOVED that we danced alone to our first song, it was 'From This Moment' and although long, I got to cherish that first dance truly alone with my husband. We aren't dancers at all but I will always remember that, Gary thought it was weird all alone with everyone watching us but looking back, that will always be a special memory.

since we had a routine...I wasn't as nervous...b/c it passed the time...
but I don't remember much but we look happy in the pictures!!!

We used At Last too. We did have our BP step in but it was at the very end not half way through. It was fine, we hadn't really practiced so we had just enough spotlight.

wow! I didnt think this was such a popular song! WE used the version that was in a movie...with Bette Midler. It was our song and then the BP jined us at the middle to end of the song. Then the DJ played it again after we cut the cake. I danced with ROb and then they played different music when we each danced with his parents,etc
I LOVE THAT SONG and I get goosebumps when I hear it. I guess I'm a mush!

(butting in from BHB board) I am also planningon using at last, but what I am going to do is do 'at last' first, and have the band go directly into another 'jazzy' type of song... but a little more upbeat..'this will be... an everlasting love...'. Just an idea!
