DH is a police officer out here, so needless to say, I made the move from Beautiful Long Island to Rutherford Station, NJ.
I live in a great apartment building right now...we thought this would be nice so that I could meet people....but this place is a ghost town!!!! It seems like everyone who lives here is either 2 seconds shy of a grave, or professional and never around....
The most I bump into people is at the gym. This particular site doesn't have a pool either so it's that much harder.........
I'm a very social person and I have to say i'm kind of dissapointed. I love my DH but I just feel sooooooo lonely sometimes! (This sounds like a personal ad lmao)
Anyways, just wondering if there are any Jersey Girls that are up for a GTG????

I moved to NJ last November and it has still been hard making friends! I def understand what you mean about being lonely esp since my husband works late sometimes...
We should start a LI girls moved to NJ support group
I would def be interested in a NJ GTG!!!

I'm actually the opposite... I'm a Jersey girl and moved to LI with DH. I was able to transfer to our sales office out in Woodbury, but it's hard for me b/c all my friends are in Jersey. I lived in Hoboken b4 moving into DH's house. I do like Long Island a lot, but miss NJ.
Hoboken is a great place to go out for dinner and drinks. Plus, it's easy to meet new people there. I actually joined the coed volleyball league at Jones Beach to meet new people and I've made a few great friends here.

actually part of my problem is that i still work on LONG ISLAND!!!!!!! I love my job, love my friends there, and can't even bring myself to leave....i only work 3 days a week (RN) so the commute isn't bad (i'm used to it since DH has always lived out here) so i'm not leaving until i have to.....
I'm in Rutherford....wheres everyone else?? I know there are more!

Jenn's right- I live in NJ now too (in Passaic County)....I had a rough adjustment period at one point...probably had to do with post-wedding depression and coming off the high of my first year teaching. I'm doing better now but I just miss being able to drop by my sisters' houses. So when I have no plans here and DH is off doing something else, it can really stink. It just takes time to settle and make a life in a new place. I love my job, thank goodness for that. It's just hard to have an active social life when your work friends are all married with kids.
Man, us Jersey girls are all over the state!!

we rent an apartment in Basking Ridge - right off of 78 (literally 2 minutes)....
I work in South Plainfield - so i'm right near the Metuchen/Edison girls! (used to live in both Metuchen & Edison actually)

OMG, Jenn! I used to live in Parsippany- up until last January! We lived on Baldwin Road! We should have had our own GTG! I just didn't realize you lived soooo close. I still don't live too far away- I'm just off of 287, exit 55.

Crap really? LMAO I had NO IDEA! I know where Baldwin Road is. We live rigt off New Road or you can come in through the back on Edwards Road. Thats sooooo funny. We should definetly meet up.
