Any other military spouses?

Hey guys,

I always feel weird posting here since my wedding date says sept 14th 2008. I know I explained this before but I will do it again for people who do not remember :)

John and I got married January 2007 for personal reasons and only told people very close to us knowing we wanted to have our big wedding in Sept. So we have been married for one year and lived together for 3!

John just returned from a deployment in the winter after an injury. When he returned there was some issues we needed to get through with him being in iraq and things he saw. We have been going to coucling everyday for the post traumatic stress and we were finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel..

well three days ago we got horrible news In Oct he will be sent back for 18 friggen months. It is not fair..almost cruel..

so as of right now I don't even know if we can have our wedding, our honeymoon is defiantly out though. I am praying we can have our wedding and enjoy that day together..

but as of right now I am just focusing on my marriage and not the wedding..so I hope its okay if I post here from time to time. I just always feel weird doing so but I am married lol

I could really use the support if there is any other military spouse or just anyone who has any advice or anything

i am a military wife as well.. i was dating my husband when he was in the reserves.. so we just kept praying that he wouldnt get sent anywhere.. and we got lucky and he got out when his time was up.

i wish i can help you more.. i really am so sorry you both are going through this..

if he gets sent in Oct.. you should be able to have your wedding still right??

I am not a military wife but my hubby is MIA most fo the week due to his job so if ya ever wnat to gab, just find me AeroJenn is a military wife I think. She hasnt been around in a while.

i know its easier said than done... but like you said at least he gets out after the next deployment.. it will be a rough but you 2 have to stay strong and know you will spend the rest of your lives together!!
dont forget.. he is your hero! and America's hero!

oh my gosh, i am so sorry to hear that. but your absolutely right about focusing on the marriage. that is definitely the most important part.

i'm not, but i recently did a paper on homeless veterans (the statistics are insane) and and ptsd is so undertreated so i just wanted to say that i'm soooo happy that u guys are getting counseling because it can have horrible effects. and, i'm always around to talk as well!

I am not a military wife but my SIL is so I can empathize. I see how hard it is on her as they were apart for a few months and they also just found out he is going to Iraq soon. My heart aches for her and for you.

My DH is in the military, but he just converted to being a full time recruiter....BIG time for you and all the hard times you guys have gone thru...its not easy, but with faith, anything is possible, right??
