Any special memories....

Any special memories....

that you and DH shared before you started dating? Or any special memories that made you realize that you really liked DH?

About a week after meeting DH, some friends of ours went out for some Dunkin Donuts really late. We were all just hanging out and I noticed that DH kept looking at me. As we were saying goodbye he looked at me and said 'I couldn't help but notice that you have green eyes'. A few hours later I got a text message from him saying that he thought that my eyes were beautiful.
It was then that I got my first butterflies.

Re: Any special memories....

Our first date, we went to Bayville's Hunted FireHouse...but before that we all met up at his friend's firehouse. There were about 15 people there.

However, DH & I just started talking & talking...I remember feeling like it was only him & I in the whole world at that moment. We blocked everyone out, & was just tallking.

That's when I knew, it was something special

DH and i were friends before we started dating. We 1st offically knew of each other from myspace. I know weird. he found me on there and added me as a friend but we didnt talk on there at all lol then a week later no joke we meet up in a college class we both had. and then we offically started talking then in class. we let out of class early and we both didnt have a class till later on that day so we sat outside before class and just hit it off! we talked and talked and didnt want to go to class. i just felt it right then that there was something special there with us. i just had that feeling! and now look we are married!!! not the most special story but i knew at that moment talking to him that i would be with him for a long time!

DH and I had just started spending a lot of time together but hadn't let our co-workers know were were dating yet. We went to see a performance some of our students were in on campus, and my boss at the time (who is also good friends with DH) happened to be there and sat between us! When he later realized we were on a date, he was so embarassed, and we teased him at the wedding, saying we got together despite him trying to butt in on our date!

Re: Any special memories....

I have two favorite memories...

Our first kiss took FOREVER....I didn't know what in the world he was waiting for...so one night after we had hung out...he left and still no kiss...so I texted him with 'Ya know, I don't bite' lol......the next night...we watched a movie at his apt. and at the end....we did that long awkward stare...like 'should I kiss her now or wait' then finally he planted one on me and to this day I still get butterflies thinking about it.

the other....how clichey but when he said I love you....b/c I actually thought he was breaking up with me LOL.......we were saying goodbye one night...and we walk downstairs and he suddenly had the strangest look on his face and he grabs both my arms....(gently) and says....'I need to tell you something' and in those 30 seconds I was like 'ummm is he breking up with me, what did I do? why is he breaking up with me'......so I said 'okkkk.......' and he said 'I've fallen in love with you.....' I hit him and said 'OMG I thought you were breaking up with me.....but I love you too' LOL

Re: Any special memories....

sorry this is really long but I promise it's a good one!

my favorite story is how we started dating.....I think i posted this before for something else but here it is again
we were really good friends in college and liked eachother a lot, but it never worked out. After school ended he moved to Florida and I moved home to LI. After a year I decided to move to Italy to play softball for a while. One day after a game, my teammate's boyfriend was there and saw my bag had our school logo on it. He said that he knew a guy who went there. I was totally confused seeing as this kid had never been to the US and really didn't speak english at all, but it turned out my future husband was over in Italy that summer too playing baseball with this kid!!! So, I wrote a note to give to him and a few days later he drove 5 hours and surprised me at my next game!!!! As soon as I got over to him and gave him a hug I knew, I know this sounds so cheesy but I really did think right then and there, 'oooh haha so this is how it was supposed to work, I am so going to marry him someday' It only took 5 years and moving half way across the world but we finally got it right!!

Fast forward three years........I will keep this short because it is an incredibly long and sad story but, a few months after we got engaged dh was suddenly incredibly sick with encephalitis, the doctors had just told me he probably wasn't going to make it and he was back in another coma, after days of doctors and nurses trying to wake him up nothing was working.....I had stopped going into the ICU room for a few hours because I just couldn't handle it anymore, then something made me tell myself that I would regret it if I didn't go back in at least to say goodbye (yes, it really got to that point) so I walked in really calmly, sat down next to his bed again and just talked to him as if he was awake, I didn't cry this time, I didn't try to wake him up like the nurses told me to, (that totally wasn't working) I just had a conversation with him (and yes at this point I was a little crazy with grief) For whatever reason I started telling him our story, all about school and softball/baseball and then about Italy, then I just said that our friends in Italy probably miss us, that we should go back, I asked him if he wanted to go back to Italy with me someday and he just turned his head towards me, opened his eyes and shook his head yes!!!!!!! He just woke up!
Seeing as this is real life the story doesn't just end there with a miraculous happy ending, but he woke up then and it was his last coma, several months of hospitals and rehab later he was back to his old self again with no lasting brain damage (the doctors have absolutely no explanation for how that happened, or any of it really) and we were able to keep our wedding date! That was really important to him to show everyone that he was healthy again he didn't want to move the date.

Re: Any special memories....

We had only been dating for about 3 Weeks and I was cooking Thanksgiving for some of my Family. I asked him if he would like to join us. And He said Yes...and I told him that it would only be about 6 of us.....Well, When the word went out that I had a Date. My Whole Family decided they now wanted to come and meet this guy. So it went from a small party of 6 people to 22 people. I told him if he wanted to, he could back out...He Said no way. He was great.... I knew then we were meant to be.

Wow, I love that place, go every year to the Bayville FD Haunted House, I love Halloween, its so cool and fun there, I took my husband there when we first started dating, he though I was nuts, I told him to chill out and just wait and see, we had a ball and he really liked it. ............

DH and I met through mutual friends at his firehouse. He used to tease me about his truck and how much I had wanted one. We became friends and the rest as they was history

Re: Any special memories....

DH was in a band with a good friend of mine from highschool....I gave up alcohol for Lent and continued to watch the band a lot with a good friend---I thought DH was cute and thought he was looking at me --apparently he thought same thing and I was looking at him....he was so shy so it was hard to get anything started sooo one weekend after we hung out in a group I put an ad in the local city paper directed towards him --almost every guy in the band thought it was for him but DH said he knew...a few weeks later after another group hang out we had our first date but it was supposed to be another group thing and my friends were like nope we are not showing up..night ended in a kiss and the rest is history
