Any special plans for Valentines' Day?

Any special plans for Valentines' Day?

Even though it is during the week. My new husband and I have made reservations at an Italian restaurant that we have wanted to try and bought each other presents.

What is everyone doing?

What I'd do if.....

Unfortunatly, I'm here in NY and he'll be in Boston. :-( I've already told him not to go to the expense of sending me flowers, since we're saving every penny for our house and I'll be up there this weekend anyway, and would not be able to enjoy them.

But if we were together, and in our new home, since all my cookware and cookbooks and stuff are all packed for the move, I'd probably try to cook him a special dinner and a special dessert.

Any special plans for Valentines` Day?

My new hubby made us reservations at our favorite french restaurant by us. Well, I went ahead and cancelled those today so I can surprise him with a home cooked romantic dinner - shrimp coctail, filet mignon, mashed potatoes & strawberries with fresh whipped cream for dessert.... (& plenty of champagne :-)) He's been really stressed lately & I think he's craving some attention. I just hope dinner comes out ok!!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!

I have been given orders to leave work at 6 today so we can have dinner at a local fish restaurant. REALLY looking forward to a good meal and seeing my hubby for more than 40 minutes b4 I fall asleep!

Oh I love this man so much, he just called and said ...how about we go and pick up the wedding video..it's been ready for two weeks and I thought it was a money issue that we didn't pick it up, he was just waiting for tonight to share that with me for Valentine's Day!..

Sara - you inpired me...

I just went food shopping on my lunch break, and we'll be dining on jumbo prawn cocktail, a rib-eye steak for hubby/NY strip for me; asparagus and baby carrots and mashed potatoes!

I am also making a homemade Valentine to place on his plate before supper.

He's in charge of dessert, so I don't know what that will be yet...but, I am looking forward to dinner at home more than a restaurant! Happy Valentine's Day!

Claud - I can't take all the credit, but I'm glad I helped!

I'm so glad I inspired you! I was actually inspired by another newlywed, so I can't take all the credit :-)

How'd it go? How was everyone else's v-day?

My husband called me in TEARS when he woke up and found my invitation to a romantic dinner at home! He really needed a night of my undivided attention & a (if I do say so myself) AMAZING home cooked meal. It was a really special night.

And on another note - he had a dozen red roses delivered to me at work - I teach and it was delivered right to my classroom while I was in the middle of a lesson!! The kids loved it!! :-)

We Watched the video last night!! And a question

It was so nice to put the video on for Valentine's Day we had just gotten it so we watched it from start to finish and I must say the tears were coming down both our faces. The video was great but I have ONE complaint and need advice. The video guy's helper- had his cell phone on him and in the church it went off and we all heard it including the priest who had dagers in his eyes and it was picked up on the video, then throughout the video...you can still hear his phone going off! I feel this was not appropriate for the type of business he is in, what would you girls do? Thanks and I hope you all had a very nice Valentine's Day!

Ask them if they can delete that from the soundtrack at no charge. It may be that there was more than one mike, laying down the sound on separate tracks. Hopefully they can eliminate his.

Was anyone on the alter miked? When my hubby's brother was married, the groom was miked to pick up the vows. During the long Mass, hubby and his brother started whispering dirty jokes to each other. Suddenly they remembered the mike and wondered aloud if the jokes were coming out on the tape. They turned and got a thumbs up and a smile from the video guy, but he was able to edit them out of the final video.

That is a serious no no on the part of the assistant. I would bring this up with the videographer immediately.

I am sooo sorry to hear that your video team was careless during your wedding! You must be disappointed.

In my opinion, this is completely unacceptable, and I would call the videographer immediately to have the soundtrack edited.

If it's not possible to edit out the cellphone interference, than I would demand a partial refund. It is simply unfair and unprofessional service to have this on your wedding video.

There is no reason that the assistant needed to have his phone ringer 'on' during your wedding. Your affair should have had his undivided attention, and if he had a personal reason for needing the phone 'on', he could have had the decency to switch the ringer to 'vibrate.'

Who did you use? This might be something to alert the Brides-to-Be about. And, let us know how the handle it for you.

I am glad to hear that, despite these mistakes, you and your hubby really enjoyed the video. May it continue to bring you joy when you watch it.
Good luck with the edit!

I just complained about it...

I called the place Flowerama in Glendale and let me just say I have had nothing but a good experience with that place until now, and the receptionist on the phone will relay the message and I did mention that the assistant's phone kept going off and she said by all means that is something I should tell them... I hope it's handled quick and painlessly..The opening scene was extremely fussy along with the animation..I think they use the same track over and over and over again and it gets worn down and I will insist they use a clean copy. I will let everyone know how it winds up..it's just a pain in the butt to go through this now after it's been said and done.
