Thatched Cottage was my second choice. I didn't book it b/c it was quite a trip from my church and I didn't want people to have to book hotel rooms or anything... I know alot of people who have been to weddings at Manhasset Bay YC and had a great time. The food and views are great there. Did you have any specific questions?

YES! Were there kids in the pool during the cocktail hour? If so, did this bother anyone? Does it get really windy outside there in the summer (it was brutal when i visited by it is winter now so......who knows). Food quality? And quantity? In fact, there are only 2 things stopping me from booking here at this point:
1. cocktail hour only has passed hors D'oeuvres and like a veggie display table - any other stations i have to pay $10 pp for (seafood is $15). Already tried to negotiate this without success. My Italian family needs a BIG cocktail hour......
2. To ensure there is no one in the pool, I would have to have my wedding before the pool opens or after it closes which limits me to 3 weeks in May or 2 weeks in Sept.
Another note is that i am not a member. But low and behold I will FIND one if I love this place and have to have it (that is, unless you advise me that you think they will let this slide.....).
So any thoughts or experiences would be SOOO appreciated. Thank you so much for responding. I am going to see the place for a second time tomorrow b/c they will be setting up for a wedding.
