Re: Anyone been to Bermuda?
We did a Celebrity Cruise to Bermuda in 2005. It is one of the most beautiful places we've been to! I would recommend doing a cruise, hotels tend to be verrrrrry expensive.

we've been there on a cruise.... i think it stayed at the island for 3 days... and when the ship moves, you dont have to be on it which is awesome (bermuda is so small that we had a moped and just rode around the entire island)

Re: Anyone been to Bermuda?
I had a great vacation there back in 1990. It is expensive, but it also is pretty safe, with none of the poverty you see on some Caribbean islands.
The cruise ships stop right in the downtown, at least they did then, so that good for a cruise.

we took a cruise there in 2004, cheapest way to do it, hotels are super expensive. We thought it was more for older people, it was kinda boring but it's beautiful.

Soon-to-be-newlywed crashing....
We are taking our honeymoon to Bermuda! and leaving this Saturday! We are staying at the Elbow Beach Resort which is a Mandarin Oriental hotel. It is one of the highest rated hotels there, and yes, it comes with a hefty price-tag. I've never been to Bermuda but FH has and it's supposed to be beautiful, relaxing, and romantic. We really needed to unwind on our HM so we opted to hold off on a trip that would make us feel obligated to do excursions and activities. Pluses (I have heard) about Bermuda: amazing beaches, the whole island is beautiful and people are friendly, great restaurants, island is easy to navigate, and of course, proximity to NY. Cons: VERY expensive (restaurants and hotels), not great if you are into high-energy nightlife (we are not -- we prefer quieter atmospheres, not casinos or loud clubs).
I can give you a better review when I return on 9/14!

Re: Anyone been to Bermuda?
DH and I went to Bermuda last October for our HM. Both of our parents went there for their HM's also! It's just my opinion, but I think if it's your first time going to Bermuda you should stay on the island and get the feel for it. We stayed 5 days and i think that is about enough time, maybe 1 more day if you are a big beach person. the island isn't that big and not too much to do besides the beach, aquarium, shopping, caves and forts, but you are able to take it all in. We stayed at the Fairmount Southampton and it was a little pricey, but beautiful. We also had a special floor, can't remember which, but it included breakfast. I have friends that have stayed at the Elbow Beach Resort, Coco Reef and Grotto Bay and they all love it there as well!
I also have to say that DH's parents have been on 3 cruises since their HM to bermuda. Now that they experienced time there, they can go back and just spend the 2-3 days that you are docked to take in the sites once again, but know you've done it all before! I think if DH and i went back again it would probably be on a cruise, or we wouldn't go back until our 10 year anniversary, so that it had been sometime. HTH!
