Anyone been to cancun recently?

Dh and i are thinking of going for our 1 year anniversary. I was just thinking of cancun because its a short direct flight and we already did playa del carmen/riviera maya last year. DH was there 10 years ago for spring break but i dont know anyone thats been since. Any info would be great. TIA

we went to cancun in january. we stayed at the sun palace - it's couples only and was really nice. we never left the resort until it was time to go back to the airport. our aim was to just relax by the beach for a week, and we did.

my co-worker just went on his mini-moon and I think the place he stayed was called sol melia or something. he said it was gorgeous.

I was there the same week but we were in Riviera Maya at the Excellence (also gorgeous)

I was there a couple years ago....the resorts are fine, I liked Isla Mujeres even better. There is certainly a tacky, cheezy side to the area, it seems like the worst of the us is there sometimes, but it is still a good time, the people are friendly, and the local food is great.
