the driving was really rough because there seemed to be no gas stations or street signs once you get out of the main cities. so we had to speed through the cloud forest - which was breathtaking.


we also went to arenal and manuel antonio.


ETA - June may also be rainy season - we went in may and I think it was the beginning of rainy season... I thought it was the coolest. It would rain really hard for 1/2 hour in the afternoon - but it would be clear and humid the rest of the time.

I went with my mom a few years back - it was gorgeous. I LOVED seeing the monkeys!
One word of advice, be careful if you go rafting. We went on the 'beginning' level route and I got knocked off the raft, which then got caught on a rock with me under it! When they couldn't find me, my mom jumped off and she nearly drowned as well. Needless to say, it put a little damper on the trip. Their white water rafting is not equivalent to our standards.
