DH and I are planning to take a trip to Mystic, CT for our 1 year anniversary in August (can't believe how fast time flies!) and I was wondering if anyone has been there and if so if you can recommend any good restaurants and fun stuff to do? Thanks a bunch!

Funny that you mention this- DH and I are going for our one year in a few weeks. I have never been there myself but we have booked the Hyatt. If you search Mystic on here, I did start a thread a little while ago asking the same questions you did and there are good suggestions on there. However, when we do return, I will let you know where to go.

We stayed at Foxwoods when we went for our minimoon. We ate at Mystic Pizza so we could say we did. We went to Mystic Village which was cute with the shops. We were going to go to the aquarium but it was closed because of snow.

Great thanks so much! We have a giftcard to Bedandbreakfast.com so I think we are going to stay at the Whalers Inn which looks nice. Please let me know how your trip goes and I hope you have a great time!

we went there a few years ago..
we went to foxwoods and mohegan to gamble but inmystic we went to amuseum..wanna say it was a navy/airforce or something like that
als we went into the town and shopped and ate mystic pizza
the best thing was the shopping...they have this huge shopping area..all little stores and shops and u could walk in side for hours so cute!!!

DH & I went there in Aug. we loved the Aquarium & the Mystic Seaport/Museum (Whaling Museum). We stayed at the Marriott & we went to Foxwoods at night (15min away) gambled saw a show did a few dinners there & did some nice on the water restaurants in Mystic. S&P Oyster Co. is fabby! Enjoy we loved it.
really can't be much help. We stayed on the boat. If I recall its not the most exciting area. We were there two days and I was super bored, but we were on a boat so we didn't have a car to get us places. But I am sure you will have fun no matter where you go, as long as you have a hotel room.

For a great place to eat - try the Seamans Inn (love the name...... DH and I first went there because he thought it was funny).
It's really great food - one of the best places to eat in Mystic. Two of my closest friends live up that way and one had her 40th bday party there! Delish!

I've been to Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods and I have been to the Aquarium there.

they have the BEST restaurant, little pricey but its awesome. also, a beautiful place to stay right in the heart of mystic. i don't live far from there, its definitely just a weekend type of trip. the aquarium is great and foxwoods is about 15mins. most hotels have shuttles to take you to and from the casino.

We went to Mystic over the summer with Dh's brother, sister-in-law and baby. We went to the Mystic Village which in my opinion was a waste, they show how people lived back then and the different trades avaliable. It was kinda expensive too, I think like $55 each? We bought the package with the coupons and aquarium ticket. The aquarium was cute, I wouldn't do it again though.
All the little shops are cute. We stayed at a holiday Inn, I think express, and it was right across the street from a bunch of shops and little candy shops. We also went into the town where mystic pizza was, that's was nice too.
