Anyone been to Virgin Gorda?

thinking about it for our honeymoon. Heard great things about it but don't of anyone personally that has been there. Good for a honeymoon? Any suggestions where to stay? We are looking for a villa on the beach (or close enough to it) with a bed that has those white drapey things hanging from it. Always wanted that!!!!!

We got engaged on Virgin Gorda. I thought it was the most beautiful island of all the Carribean. We stayed at Little Dix Bay- which was so wonderful. Its a little private cove of a beach with its own coral reef that you can just snorkel out to from the beach. If you a intested, I can tell you more about it- I LOVED IT
If you want to relax and have a romantic honeymoon- this is the place to be..IF you are looking for a wild nightlife - keep looking b.c Virgin Gorda just doesn't have it

I have!! It was several years ago...stayed at the Bitter End Yacht Club.

I loved Virgin Gorda-the BVIs are beautiful and unspoiled, very very laid back and safe and quiet. If you scuba, there are many wrecks that are easy to access, great snorkling too. If you boat/sail, the BVIs are ideal-lots of coves to explore.

The things that were lacking were the exact things that we did not want on our trip-no casinos, no disco/clubs, not much in the way of dutyfree shopping (though some nice local shops).

Both have very active forums where you can ask about villa rentals.

Have we discussed this already? It is absolutely gorgeous!!! Little Dix or Bitter End are both beautiful. We actually chartered a sailboat and toured about 5 differnet islands in the BVi which was an AMAZING way to see things. Ditto to the above though about not much in the way of nightlife. I'm sure you can keep yourself occupied though!!

Girl you are toooo funny. Didn't expect to hear from you on the NEWLYWED board! Hahaaaa. Good to know you got your eyes are ears everywhere. I want pictures! Can you bring some with you next week? Or better yet, do you have any to e-mail me so I can show Pete? How long were you there for? Does it get boring - would a week be too long? Ya like my vision of my bed? I have to have it.....

P.S. - I know you mentioned it to me before but it must have been after my FIFTH stoli and vodka!
