I did it thgough the mail. I got the new card back in less time than they said on the website but I don't remember exactly.

download the form from the site. (application for ss card) and mail it in with your original marriage certificate. (thats it, right?)

I'm going to go to DMV first though... get that done before i send SS my cert.

I went in person....but still waiting for my new card

DMV was easy....got my new license and changed registration on 2 cars.

i have to decide whether to go to the DMV today, or just wait till SS sends my cert. back (so i can do laundry before this weekend).
Hmmmm decisions.
I guess its not VITAL that i do DMV right away, right?

I'm just not able to go to SS in person because i work for a jerk and its such a hassle to get out early or come in late.

It give you all the info on what you need to send and stuff.

I've fallen so behind on doing this...I was thinking about doing it through the mail because I'm so friggen lazy to go to SS. Now that I hear that they actually do return your marriage certificate...it's peace of mind...and I'm going to do it.
