anyone do their own thank-yous?

anyone do their own thank-yous?

I started mine, but now I don't like them. And I also hate my photographer! Has any one come up with any cool ways to make their own thank you cards?

I made ours. I used a brass stencil of oak leaves and acorns (we had a fall themed wedding) and I embossed the front of the card. I then hand wrote my message inside. I did them over the summer...before we got married...and it really did not take me that long. I like the idea of sending a thank you note that was made by me rather than the picture folders the photographers give you.

email me if you want any more info.

Good Luck!

I made ours. They were very simple. I got a great deal on Crane Informal Foldovers at a stationer that was closing. I used our ink jet printer to print our names on the front. I enclosed a picture of us that was copied on photo paper at Kinkos. Hand wrote our thanks and that was it. They took a little time to do but it was worth it.

Deb, if you have a good pic or can scan a good quality one in, use shutterfly.com. I used a color pic (was actually taken from a table camera and I converted it to grayscale) and uploaded it to Shutterfly. I made these small (3.5 x 5) note cards with our pic on them as extra thank yous for guests who couldn't make it and I wanted to send a pic to, etc. They came out great and so cute. I got 12 cards for $10 I think. Worth a look.

I was going to forum mail you about your photog...so sorry to hear about that! Did you get any good pics, I hope???

I am not doing photo thank you cards. Instead I got very nice 'informals' from a local stationary. They have Michele and Scott on the front. I plan on sending wallet size photos to close friends and aunts/uncles only. Most other people just toss them in a draw anyway.

Michele's right. Other than close family and friends, the pictures get tossed in a drawer.
I don't want to send the picture one to people who didn't even give us a card. I don't even want to send them a thank you.

Latina511 found a very nice place to do hers, they were very inexpensive. But those sites that Stef posted are a good starting point.

I love my thank yous...this is sample of what I received. The only thing I regret is for a collage type of card I should of gotten a bigger card than a 4x7 becuse the pictures look too small.
