It def hurts when going!!! I've never had a hemorrhoid, so I don't know if I do now!!

Ok, go to the bathroom and put your finger in your butt. If you feel swollen bumps - then you have internal hemorrhoids.
If you feel swollen bumps on the outside of your as*hole (sorry for the blunt language) then you have external hemorrhoids.

in either case - it's not serious.

No prob sweetie! Here is some info on at home treatment:
Hot sitz baths

A sitz bath is recommended 3 times a day and after each bowel movement for at least 15 minutes.

For a sitz bath, sit in a few inches of warm water in a tub.

This is the best way to lessen the swelling and the pain.

Be sure to thoroughly dry the skin around your anus after each bath so that it doesn't rub and become torn.

-Dietary changes
Drink more liquids and eat more leafy green vegetables, which will make stools bulkier and softer to relieve constipation.

Some people with constipation or hard stools may benefit from increasing the amount of bran and fiber in their diet.

-Stool softeners might also help.

You should be cautious in choosing a laxative for your constipation.

If a laxative causes watery, runny stools, it could cause an infection in the anus and should not be used.

Aww Marie I hope you are feeling better and I know those are a pain in the butt literally (sorry about the pun) . I would just see the doc as a just in case.

yes, I've had this a number of times. You prob have internal hemorrhoids.

Don't sit on the toilet for a long time & push & push. It makes blood rush to the area & can make the bleeding worse.

i need to read other ppls responses bc i may be being repetitive but blood IN your stool is def a call to go see the doctor!!, it can mean something more serious.

BUT if the blood is on the toilet paper when you wipe or in the toilet and NOT IN the stool, it can be just a tear (fissure) internally and then it can be aggravated each time and you might see blood for a while til it heals. if it continues for a longggg time this way too, id see a doc.

This happened to DH a couple months ago and I told him he probably had internal hemmerhoids. We were a little freaked out by the amount of blood that was in the toilet, but it hasn't happened since and he's fine and dandy. (he would DIE if he knew I was sharing this)
I have a hemmerhoid, but mine doesn't bleed hardly at all and sometimes it itches, but not that bad. They are REALLY common!

SO now everyone knows DH and I have them too, hope that makes you feel better Marie!

Heres a hemmerhoidal HUG for everyone!!!!!!!!!!!

two things -

1.) you could be bleeding because your constipated and the muscle around your anus is torn (sorry i'm not using a right medical terminology here)

2.) It could be a symptoms that something wrong in your abdominal part/area (i.e. colon cancer - not to scare you).

I strongly suggest you see you GI doctor and have it check. They probably going to have a colonoscopy procedure on you so the doctor can actually what is causing the bleeding.

Hopefully its just a simple hemorrhoid.
