DH and I recieved a great tax check back from the IRS today and he is so happy and pleasantly surprised about it since year after year he got nothing! lol
I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that were married now and filed our taxes as a married couple, but either way its awesome, and couldnt have come at a better time!

Our refund was ok (I was hoping for much more, but we aren't sheltering income with a mortgage, so I should have known), but we got the full stimulus so that was great!

we were VERY happy! It definitely helps that you and I aren't working and that our DH's claimed us as dependents!

Tax refund was so-so. I lost my status as head of household and that brought my refund down. My dad lived with me so I was able to claim head of household. We got the stimulus check already and that is going to pay for some furniture we bout.

it was *alright* DH & I filed separately b/c he's still technically a NJ resident and would have owed NY state 900 if we filed jointly.
I claimed my son so I get a bigger check than he does.
Unfortunately, our entire rebate went towards paying for baseball camp for the little guy. (but it's fortunate we got enough money to pay, and that he gets to go)
it's all good.
I'm getting an additional 900 for the stimulus, so that's good. But I'm not stimulating sh*t since I'm just putting it in Aidan's savings acct...

I wasn't too happy with mine. But then someone told me that it's a good thing not to get too much back. Because if you did it just means that you gave the government too much money..or as she puts it a 'interest free loan to the government'.

yup.. that happens when you withhold too much from your paycheck over the year.. so you covered the taxes you would have to pay at the end of the year and then some..
we didnt hold enough back for NYC and had to pay.. Federal refund wasnt the greatest and the stimulus we probably wont see!

We were fine with ours and looking forward to using our refund to pay down some debt. Then we had a death in the family in March and had to get last minute plane tickets to make it down there (South America) for the funeral - the tickets were so a very large part of our refund went to pay for those plane tickets I guess I'm happy that we had the money to pay for them and didn't go into further debt, BUT I REALLY was looking forward to paying down one of our cards.

No, not happy, AT ALL. We filed jointly and only got back about half of what we used to get back when we filed as individuals because of something called the 'Alternative Minimum Tax'. So much for doing better as a married couple, eh?
We're not getting any stimulus money either. UGH!
How's that for a kick in the arse ??? I want to go shopping and stimulate the economy too!
