We have been trying since November and still no luck. I know 5 months doesn't seem like a long time, but at 38 I feel I don't have time to wait
I'm so sorry, Michelle. I don't even want to think about the fact that it may be difficult for us when we start trying. I always took it for granted that I will get pg quickly since my mother had 9 healthy pregnancies, and my oldest sister had 3.
What does scare me is that another sister who's pg now (at 39) had a lot of trouble conceiving and went through 4 bouts of invitro - she miscarried 2 1/2 years ago. It's been so emotionally (and financially) draining on her and her husband...and her 8 year old son. She had to go into the hospital last night because she was dehydrated - we were all so scared for her and the baby. Thank God they're both ok and she stayed home today.
Have you spoken with your gyn about it yet?? Hang in there. Hoping for the best for you!!

Michelle, I'm with you! We've been trying for 5 months, and while it's not very long, it is upsetting. I was actually in tears last night. After talking to my gyn, who says there is absolutely nothing wrong, and that neither my age or weight is in play, I started using the clearplan ovulation monitor -- its this little computer that helps determine your most fertile days. Annoying, but hopefully this will work. I totally understand what you are going through. Here's wishing us both -- and everyone else who wants -- baby dust!!
Its been 5 months for us too. I expect it will take a while since we are older. We had the preliminary testing done and everything looks fine. I will be going on to what I call 'level 2' testing if this cycle isnt the one. And I am starting to research RE's.

We've been trying for 6 or 7 months and it is frustrating!, we try our whole adult life to prevent this sort of thing only to find out it's not as easy as we thought. I'm 34 and getting nervous myself. This website helps www.tryingtoconceive.com there are messege boards and amazing amount of information. Good luck to all and let's keep each other updated!
