Anyone ever been to Lake Tahoe?

Cali or NV side?
I'm trying to book a trip for my parents there but I don't know which side of the lake is better. ANy advice?
Any tips?

i was there in april... IMO netiher side is 'better' - if you are in the town, it's SO easy to get to the other side! but the NV side does have the casinos. lake tahoe was AMAZING. just gorgeous.

if they are going to stay outside of the actual town, definitely the NV side - there will be more nightlife b/c of the casinos.

DH and i were on a road trip out of san francisco, so we drove there. we stayed at the lake tahoe lodge and spa (didn't use the spa), which i would not really recommend (it's on the CA side) - it was fine for one night and had a fireplace and a balcony but the bed was very uncomfortable. you can definitely find something nicer in the area. sorry i can't be more help!!

if they go there your parents HAVE to eat at christina's - it's just off the main road on the CA side, the food is out of this world.

Ive been to Tahoe and my favorite area is Incline Village, I forget what side its on i believe the North Shore. Its just really pretty and upscale there. Also the Hyatt Casino is in Incline which is a really nice hotel there. When visitng the North Shore i defintily reccomend the Big Water Grille resturant. Its delicious and has a beautiful view of the lake. But Incline is more quiet and isolated but its really easy to get around there.

ETA: Its alot closer to fly into Reno's airport, even though its a pain since you have to most likely connect. Lake Tahoe is still about a good 70 mile drive from Sacramento. Oh and depeneding on when they go if they drive there from Sac they will have to get chains put on their wheels as they venture up the hill. (During winter)

it's very old school...but I really thought the Cal-neva right on the border was fun!
I like character more than luxury though.
We took one of the sunset sails with unlimited drinks...so much fun,
