Anyone ever do the six week body makeover diet?

Anyone ever do the six week body makeover diet?

My sister knows someone who knows someone who lost 80 pounds in 6 weeks doing a very similar diet (and some exercise). I know that sounds very unhealthy, but the diet is VERY healthy - 3 egg whites for breakfast, then 2 hours later 2 oz of lean chicken, then 2 hours later cup of rice and 1/2 cup veggies ... etc. You eat often and the food is very healthy - but no dairy besides the egg whites (which counts as a protein I guess) and no salt, no sugar, no cheese, etc.

I told my sister that it sounds very hard to stick to and that once you do eat any of the things you aren't supposed to, you'll gain it back. Would love to hear from anyone that's done something like this. Is it healthy? Can it work? Can you maintain in the long run? Did you gain anything back?

TIA!

Wow. I'd love to do it for like 2 weeks just as a jump start.

Never done it but it sounds wayyyyyy too hard fo me to stick to. I think i could also just drink water for 6 weeks and probably lose weight too I give people credit that have that much discipline. The cheese thing would be impossible for me.

The no cheese rule lost me. I heart cheese

BLAND! I bought it, read through, packed it up and sent it right back. Smaller portions, higher protien and fill up on low cal fruits and veggies is what I feel is a less restricting form of the diet which can actually become a healthy lifestyle.

me too! some girl in my office gave it up for lent- I think she's nuts, I could go 40 days without dh/sex but not without cheese

jenn- I havent heard of anyone using that diet- i think the best thing is always something that you can stick to and that sounds difficult have you ever checked out ww- its really easy to follow

Wait - you can buy all of the foods and just eat them? Like you get it in a box?

No way, I could never give up cheese. When I found I couldn't have soft cheese during pregnancy I almost cried, I told DH I am going to eat all my cheese now before we have a baby!

I should have mentioned it's my sister that wants to go on it. She's overweight and has always striuggled, and I was trying to tell her that the concept of this was good, but that it's probably not doable in the long run.

heather, like you said, she was thinking of doing it for a week or two then going off it, then going back on after a week - I think the idea is a healthy one and as long as she allows herself some sugar and cheese here and there, she'll be ok.

I cannot go very long without eating cheese. A week at most if I really, really tried!

You know what? It sounds horrible and restricitve, but if she did it for 2 weeks and lose like 12 pounds, she'd be very proud of herself and motivated to really lose the rest of the weight the healthy way - w/diet and exercise. But I think it isnt awful to try something like this just as a jumpstart.
